Randomized Controlled Trial
Effect of Liuzijue exercise in different periods on circadian rhythm of blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension: A randomized trial.
Exercising at different times of the day is a widely employed strategy for treating essential hypertension, aimed at enhancing the circadian rhythm of blood pressure. This study aimed to investigate the effects of Liuzijue exercise in the morning and afternoon on the circadian rhythm of blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. ⋯ The 12-week Liuzijue exercise in the morning regimen demonstrated superior efficacy in reducing 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure levels among patients with essential hypertension. Moreover, it facilitates the transition of non-dipper blood pressure patterns to dippers, thereby rectifying aberrant circadian rhythms.

The brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings seen in patients with Bell palsy are abnormal contrast enhancement of affected facial nerves. Previous studies were conducted on a few patients, mainly those who had experienced palsy for several weeks. This study investigated the diagnostic usefulness of MRI by examining MRI findings of acute Bell palsy (within 7 days of symptom onset) in a large cohort. ⋯ Of the 110 patients with abnormal findings, 65 (59%) showed contrast enhancement in the labyrinthine segment and 36 (33%) in both the labyrinthine segment and geniculate ganglion. Most patients with Bell palsy who are in the acute phase showed abnormal contrast enhancement in their facial nerves, and similar findings were even observed in the examination conducted on the day of symptom onset. Brain MRI helps in the diagnosis of acute Bell palsy.

Case Reports
Anesthetic management for emergency cesarean section in a patient with status epilepticus: A case report.
The presence of clinically significant repeated maternal epilepsies during pregnancy increases the risk of adverse maternal, fetal and neonatal outcomes. However, there are few guidelines for anesthesiologists to deal with this situation. ⋯ Providing anesthesia to patients undergoing cesarean section poses major challenges for anesthesiologists. Close monitoring and proper treatment can help reduce risks for both the mother and baby.

Crohn disease (CD) and pregnancy often impact each other, which poses challenges for women with CD to successfully give birth to a healthy baby. The latest guideline recommends that patients with active inflammatory bowel disease delay pregnancy to induce remission and optimize disease control. Research data has showed that the incidence of infection and severe infection in patients treated with ustekinumab (UST) did not increase compared to those treated with a placebo. ⋯ Her experience suggests that although pregnant during Crohn active period, a good outcome can be achieved through positively controlling with medication and closely monitoring it. The use of UST during pregnancy appears to be safe for both the mother and fetus but may be associated with severe infections.

Case Reports
Sotos syndrome treated with traditional Chinese medicine and rehabilitation: Case report.
Sotos syndrome is an congenital overgrowth syndrome characterized by the primary features including overgrowth, distinctive facial features, learning disability, and accompanied with various second features. NSD1 deletion or mutation is a major pathogenic cause. Although there are some reports on treatment of this disease worldwide, less cases under treatment have been published in China. ⋯ This case firstly describes the traditional Chinese medicine and rehabilitation to treat Sotos syndrome in China. There is no radical cure, but our therapy could improve the prognosis and the life quality of the patient. Therefore, this case provides a reference to the clinical treatment of Sotos syndrome.
