Female infertility is a significant problem for women of reproductive age worldwide. Obesity has been proven to pose a danger for infertility in women. Weight-adjusted waist circumference index (WWI) is a recently created biomarker of obesity, and this research aims to explore the relationship between female infertility and WWI. ⋯ According to the results of this cross-sectional survey, WWI is positively associated with infertility among adult females in the U. S. And it can help identify infertile women and may help reduce the risk of infertility.

Pipeline embolization devices are a new treatment for intracranial aneurysms, especially irregular, giant aneurysms. ⋯ Aneurysmal parent artery is a rare phenomenon. The combination of flow diverter stents and coil embolization to treat cases with large saccular aneurysms has important clinical significance and this may provide a reference for clinical treatment of aneurysmal parent artery.

To investigate the diagnostic value of a novel high-sensitivity urine lipoarabinomannan (LAM) test (chemiluminescence-based) for active tuberculosis in the general population. A retrospective study was conducted on 250 clinical suspected tuberculosis patients who were HIV-negative and visited the Fourth People's Hospital of Foshan from January 2022 to December 2022. Among them, there were 135 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis, 34 cases of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, and 81 cases of non-tuberculosis. ⋯ The high-sensitivity urine LAM test holds promise for tuberculosis diagnosis in the general population. It demonstrates high-sensitivity, enabling the detection of sputum culture-negative pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Furthermore, when combined with existing methods, it can enhance the overall detection rate.

Little information is available regarding incidence and severity of pulmonary embolism (PE) across the periods of ancestral strain, Alpha, Delta, and Omicron variants. The aim of this study is to investigate the incidence and severity of PE over the dominant periods of ancestral strain and Alpha, Delta, and Omicron variants. We hypothesized that the incidence and the severity by proximity of PE in patients with the newer variants and vaccination would be decreased compared with those in ancestral and earlier variants. ⋯ The most proximal PE (ancestral strain vs variants) was located in the main/lobar arteries (31% vs 6%-40%), in the segmental arteries (52% vs 60%-75%), and in the subsegmental arteries (17% vs 0%-19%). There was no significant difference in both the incidence and location of PE across the periods, confirmed by multivariable logistic regression models. In summary, the incidence and severity of PE did not significantly differ across the periods of ancestral strain and Alpha, Delta, and Omicron variants.

Majority of patients with acute coronary syndrome can be quickly identified by electrocardiogram, but there are still 30% of patients with acute coronary artery lesions that cannot be recognized by electrocardiogram in time, resulting in delayed treatment. ⋯ de Winter syndrome is a strong indication of severe coronary artery disease, requiring rapid identification and opening of coronary vessels to restore blood flow. For patients admitted to hospitals with PCI capacity or transferred primary PCI <2 hours, primary PCI should be performed as soon as possible. Thrombolysis can still be considered for patients first diagnosed in non-PCI institutions with transport time >2 hours, but its efficacy remains to be discussed and further verified.
