The purpose of this study was to assess the demographic data, clinical manifestations, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), hematology, brain magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalograms, and therapy and prognosis related to anti-gamma-aminobutyric acid B (anti-GABABR) encephalitis. We retrospectively examined the demographic data, clinical manifestations, laboratory results, brain magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalograms, and therapy and prognosis of 6 patients with anti-GABABR encephalitis. We used the clinical data of patients with anti-GABABR encephalitis admitted to the Department of Neurology of Mianyang Central Hospital obtained from January 2017 to September 2020. ⋯ Epilepsy is the most common initial symptom in patients of anti-GABABR encephalitis. Many patients are also affected by tumors. Early immunotherapy can achieve excellent effects, the long-term prognosis is good for most patients.

RNA N6-methyladenosine (m6A) regulators are essential for a variety of biological functions, such as early development, viral infections, and cancer. However, their roles in Alzheimer disease (AD) are still not very clear. Here, 16 significant m6A regulators were identified using difference analysis between AD patients and non-demented controls based on the GSE132903 dataset from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. ⋯ In addition, we revealed 2 distinct m6A patterns and 2 distinct m6A gene patterns in AD and demonstrated their prognostic and risk assessment significance. This present work comprehensively evaluated the functions of m6A regulators in the diagnosis and subtype classification of AD. These results suggested they have potential prognostic and risk assessment significance in AD.

The presence of breast cancer in the brain, also known as brain metastasis (BMS), is the primary reason for a bad prognosis in cases of breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most prevalent malignant tumor seen in women in developing nations. At present, there is no effective method to inhibit brain metastasis of breast cancer. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a systematic study on BMS of breast cancer, which will not provide ideas and sites for follow-up studies on the treatment and inhibition of BMS. ⋯ There is a possibility that the 8 key genes that were identified in this research are connected to the progression of BMS in breast cancer. Among them, MMP1 is 1 that has the potential to have a role in the diagnosis and treatment of BMS in breast cancer.

Hypersensitivity reactions to intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide (TA) were very rare and had been infrequently reported. In this study, we reported the clinical features of hypersensitivity reactions of TA, explored its management, and analyze the relative factors. ⋯ Hypersensitivity reaction must be considered in cases of intravitreal injection of TA that may resolve without specific treatment. The clinical intravitreal injection of TA requires filtration to remove excipients.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of pharmacomechanical thrombectomy on novel complete blood count parameters in deep venous thrombosis. This retrospective study included 242 patients aged >18 years who were treated for deep venous thrombosis. Patients were grouped as follows: group 1 was accepted as having interventional operations (n = 123) and group 2 was accepted as having only medical advice (n = 119). ⋯ In the pharmacomechanic thrombectomy group, NLR and PLR were significantly reduced after intervention when compared to the admission values (P < .001 and P < .001, respectively). However, the NLR and PLR values of medically treated patients did not differ significantly from their baseline values (P = .16 and P = .08, respectively). In this study, we effectively removed the thrombus load in blocked proximal veins using pharmacomechanical thrombectomy and observed a significant decrease in NLR and PLR, which are current, inexpensive, and accessible parameters.
