Randomized Controlled Trial Observational Study
Simple screening model based on electrocardiogram for patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.
Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is one of the most common causes of heart failure. Therefore, screening and early diagnosis of potential DCM patients is beneficial. Electrocardiogram (ECG) can be an inexpensive and easily available screening tool. ⋯ The nomogram performed satisfactory discrimination in the training (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve = 0.904) and validation (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve = 0.878) sets and good calibration (Hosmer-Lemeshow P = .066). Decision curve analysis demonstrated the model can generate a net benefit of 0.33 when the threshold probability was 0.543. The nomogram based on electrocardiogram is a simple and practical screening tool for potential DCM patients.

Very-high-risk prostate cancer (PCa) is associated with poor prognosis. Radical prostatectomy (RP) is an option for selected high-risk PCa cases, especially in younger, healthier patients. However, a high Gleason score and high T stage can increase the risk of RP. Neoadjuvant therapy has been reported in high- or very-high-risk PCa, but its clinical use remains controversial. ⋯ Our case represents a successful attempt at personalized treatment and provides preliminary evidence for the clinical use of downstaging therapy of androgen deprivation therapy, chemotherapy, and add-on zimberelimab for very-high-risk clinically localized PCa.

Leiomyoma of the vulva is a rare, benign mass that is present on the vulva. Most commonly, they are described as painless, well-circumscribed, solitary tumors that are misdiagnosed as Bartholin cysts before surgery. ⋯ Rare vulvar leiomyomas are often mistaken for Bartholin's cysts. It is also difficult to distinguish benign from malignant forms, making vulvar leiomyoma a difficult diagnosis. As there are a few techniques used to differentiate between the nature of the tumor, excisional biopsy seems to be the best current procedure employed in addition to being the treatment of choice for such tumors.

Efficacy of rational emotive behavior therapy for the improvement of knowledge and risk perception of hypertension among university lecturers in South East Nigeria: REBT for university lecturers' hypertension improvement.
This study determined the effectiveness of a rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) intervention on knowledge of risks of hypertension among university lecturers in South-east geopolitical zone of Nigeria. ⋯ The REBT health educational intervention program could be utilized to increase knowledge and perceived risks of hypertension among university lecturers in public universities in Southeast Nigeria.

For peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) inserting, tranquil cooperation of children for an extended period is often required. Therefore, sedation is routinely induced clinically prior to PICC inserting. Chloral hydrate is a commonly used sedative for children. However, its clinical acceptance has remained low. And the sedation effect is non-satisfactory. Previous studies have confirmed the safety and effectiveness of intravenous/oral dosing or nasal dripping for sedation during the examinations of electrocardiography and computed tomography. Yet few studies have assessed the sedating efficacy of dexmedetomidine nasal drops for PICC inserting. ⋯ For sedating burn children, nasal dripping of dexmedetomidine is both safe and effective during PICC inserting. Without any obvious adverse reaction, it may relieve sufferings and enhance acceptance.
