Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019, many people have had to reduce their outdoor activities. Therefore, a convenient, simple, at-home training method to improve or maintain cardiopulmonary function is required. This study aimed to explore the therapeutic effect of weight-bearing Liuzijue Qigong on cardiopulmonary function in healthy volunteers. ⋯ Weight-bearing Liuzijue Qigong training significantly improved cardiopulmonary function in healthy volunteers, thus representing home-based cardiopulmonary rehabilitation training.

Periodontal disease is often neglected and overlooking its initial symptoms can lead to tooth loss and systemic diseases. Patients with otitis media are at high risk of vestibular and balance dysfunction, consequently, and vertigo. Vertigo and dizziness are conditions with high reported incidences; they worsen with age and can burden health systems. ⋯ Compared with the controls, the risk of dizziness among patients with periodontal disease was higher for both female (HR: 1.439, 95%: 1.203, 1.720) and male patients (HR: 1.284, 95%: 1.123, 1.468); this risk was higher even when January (HR: 1.302, 95% CI: 1.145, 1.480), February (HR: 1.337, 95% CI: 1.178, 1.518), or March was excluded (HR: 1.308, 95% CI: 1.151, 1.487) and for patients without Ménière disease. Therefore, periodontal disease is not only a risk factor for dizziness but also an independent risk factor for dizziness. Future studies could clarify the mechanisms linking periodontal disease to dizziness.

Cranioplasty is a surgical procedure used to repair cranial defects for both cosmetic and functional reasons. The complication rate of cranioplasty is between 10% and 50%. The failure of cranioplasty is associated with various factors, including etiologies, types of material, and the timing of cranioplasty. In this study, a case series of managing cranioplasty complications at a single institution. ⋯ Management of cranioplasty failure can be challenging due to infection, refractory implant exposure, and wound dehiscence. The principles of management are based on adequate infection control and reconstructive ladder. Meanwhile, collaboration with plastic surgery and neurosurgery should be strengthened in order to achieve the best clinical outcomes.

This study aimed to develop a risk prediction nomogram for endometrial carcinoma and precancerous lesions in postmenopausal women to provide postmenopausal patients with more information on disease probability, work out personalized medical plans, and reduce unnecessary invasive clinical examinations. We enrolled 340 patients who underwent hysteroscopy at Beijing Maternity Hospital between March 2016 and July 2018. The patients were divided into the low-risk (275 patients) and high-risk (65 patients) groups, according to the results of the pathological examinations. ⋯ A high C-index value of 0.844 could still be reached in the interval validation. Obesity, vaginal bleeding, family history of gynecological malignancies, endometrial thickness ≥ 1.15 cm, and color Doppler flow imaging blood flow were independent risk factors for endometrial cancer and precancerous lesions. Thus, the prediction nomogram can be conveniently used to facilitate individual risk prediction in patients with endometrial cancer and precancerous lesions.
