Randomized Controlled Trial
Construction of a cuproptosis-associated long non-coding RNA risk prediction model for pancreatic adenocarcinoma based on the TCGA database.
Cuproptosis is a recently identified controlled process of cell death that functions in tumor development and treatment. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are RNA molecules longer than 200 nucleotides that bind to transcription factors and regulate tumor invasion, penetration, metastasis, and prognosis. However, there are limited data on the function of cuproptosis-associated lncRNAs in pancreatic adenocarcinoma. ⋯ Through drug screening, we identified ten drugs that may have therapeutic effects on patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. In conclusion, this study constructed a risk prediction model of cuproptosis-associated lncRNAs, which can reliably predict the prognosis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma patients, provided a clinical reference for determining treatment approach, and provided some insights into the associations between lncRNAs and cuproptosis. This provides useful insight to aid in the development of therapeutic drugs for pancreatic adenocarcinoma.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has had a dramatic impact on the psychological state and dietary behavior of individuals. Many previous studies have discussed the psychological and dietary problems during the first COVID-19 pandemic. However, few papers have discussed them during the local COVID-19 outbreak in the post-epidemic era. ⋯ The top 3 foods with increased intake were drinking water, fresh fruits and fresh vegetables, while the top 3 foods with reduced intake were puffed foods, fried foods and sugary foods. Dietary changes were correlated with generalized anxiety disorder-7 and patient health questionnaire-9 scores. These findings provide experience and clues for local governments to improve the psychological status and dietary habits of residents during the local COVID-19 outbreak in the post-pandemic era.

Serum uric acid (SUA), the end product of purine metabolism acts as an antioxidant and is related to oxidative stress. It has been reported that SUA may be involved in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer disease, Huntington disease, Parkinson disease, and multiple sclerosis. However, studies evaluating SUA levels in migraine are scarce. ⋯ Gender was not significantly related to the change in SUA levels between the attack and headache-free period. When the correlation between age, duration of migraine, frequency, duration, and intensity of pain was evaluated; the difference between SUA levels in female migraine patients was weakly correlated with headache intensity, whereas male patients had a moderate correlation. ( P < .05; R > 0.250, and R > 0.516, respectively). The difference in SUA level in the migraine attack period compared to the headache-free period showing a positive correlation with pain intensity suggested that SUA may have a role in migraine due to its antioxidant role.

Kaposi sarcoma is an angioproliferative disease associated with human herpes virus 8 infection. Classic Kaposi sarcoma (CKS) usually develops in older age. Although CKS often does not require systemic therapy, systemic therapy can be administered in progressively symptomatic patients. ⋯ No patient had grade 3 to 4 allergic reaction. There was no drug-related death. According to our results, paclitaxel is an effective therapy option with an acceptable safety profile for patients with advanced CKS.
