Caregivers of stroke patients have demanding caregiving tasks and roles, and they face multiple challenges and a variety of needs in their caregiving process. This study aimed to systematically integrate and evaluate qualitative research data to understand the care experiences of caregivers of stroke patients and to provide them with targeted assistance. ⋯ Caregiving is a long and heavy process. Society, medical institutions, and families should pay full attention to the feelings and needs of stroke caregivers in the care process and provide appropriate support for them.

This study aimed to explore the effects of recombinant human thrombopoietin (rhTPO) on platelet recovery in decitabine, cytarabine, aclarubicin, and G-CSF (DCAG)-treated patients with intermediate-high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome/hypo proliferative acute myeloid leukemia. ⋯ This study suggests that rhTPO leads to a faster platelet recovery after DCAG treatment, reduces the risk of bleeding, reduces the number of platelet transfusions, and prolongs the OS and PFS.

High risk factors related to lymph node metastasis in early gastric cancer: A retrospective observational study.
Lymph node metastasis (LNM) is a key factor affecting the prognosis of patients with early gastric cancer. This is a retrospective study, conducted between January 20, 2010 and January 30, 2019 and included 402 patients with early-stage gastric cancer who underwent radical gastrectomy at The Affiliated People Hospital of Ningbo University. ⋯ Multivariate analysis subsequently confirmed tumor size (odds ratio [OR]: 2.38, 95% confidence interval [CI]:1.15-4.92, P = .02), vascular involvement (OR: 4.35, 95% CI: 2.00-9.47, P < .001), and depth of invasion (OR: 6.63, 95% CI: 2.19-20.06, P = .001) as independent risk factors for LNM (P < .05). Tumor size, vascular involvement, and depth of invasion are independent risk factors for LNM in cases of early-stage gastric cancer.

CT-based analysis of posterior tibial slope in a Turkish population sample: A retrospective observational study.
Posterior tibial slope (PTS) is important for the success of high tibial osteotomy and unicondylar knee arthroplasty applications, as it provides anterior cruciate ligament function. In the literature, different studies have been carried out with various imaging methods to measure PTS in populations of different ethnic origins. In this study, it was aimed to detect PTS in the medial (MPTS) and lateral (LPTS) tibial condyles with computed tomography in a Turkish population sample and to compare the results between age groups (<65, ≥ 65), genders, sides, and literature data. ⋯ The midpoint method is a safe measurement method in computed tomography-based studies for the evaluation of PTS. Implant designs produces for different populations may not be suitable for the Turkish population. More comprehensive and detailed studies are needed to represent the Turkish population.

Incidence and characteristics of early elevation of cardiac troponin I after intrathoracic surgery: A single-center retrospective observational study.
The early elevation of cardiac troponins within 24 hours after noncardiac surgery is reportedly associated with increased postoperative morbidities. Several predisposing factors, including the frequent occurrence of hypoxia and increased pulmonary arterial pressure, may likely contribute to this elevation, especially after intrathoracic surgery. Therefore, this retrospective study aimed to elucidate the incidence and characteristics of the early elevation of cardiac troponin I after intrathoracic surgery. ⋯ Furthermore, multivariate analysis revealed 3 independent risk factors for the early elevation of hs cTnI: coexisting chronic renal failure (odds ratio [OR], 3.25), lobectomy or combined resections (OR, 2.65), and stored RBC transfusion (OR, 3.41). The early elevation of hs cTnI commonly occurs after intrathoracic surgery, with an incidence of 32.2%. Its 3 independent risk factors are coexisting chronic renal failure, lung resection type, and stored RBC transfusion.
