The effect of training using an upper limb rehabilitation robot (HEXO-UR30A) in chronic stroke patients: A randomized controlled trial.
Upper limb robotic rehabilitation can be beneficial to the patients when applied appropriately. HEXO-UR30A is a novel exoskeletal type upper limb rehabilitation robot that provides continuous passive motion to the shoulder joint. ⋯ These results show that HEXO-UR30A can improve functional ability in chronic stroke patients. Moreover, the high satisfaction in patients might promote active involvement in upper limb rehabilitation.

Near-infrared venous imaging may be more useful than ultrasound guidance for novices to obtain difficult peripheral venous access: A crossover simulation study.
Difficult peripheral venous access, especially in obese people, is challenging for novices. We conducted a randomized cross-over study to examine whether near-infrared venous imaging or ultrasound guidance is more useful for novice operators to obtain difficult peripheral venous access. ⋯ There was no difference in success rate of first-time attempts or acquiring proficiency for the 2 methods. However, duration of the first attempt was significantly shorter with near-infrared imaging than with ultrasound guidance. Near-infrared imaging may require less training than ultrasound guidance. Near-infrared venous imaging may be useful for novices to obtain difficult peripheral venous access in obese patients.

PPM1M is a member of the metal-dependent protein phosphatase family, and its role in the immunization process has not been studied in depth. In this study, we investigated the role of PPM1M in pan-cancer. ⋯ In pan-cancer, PPM1M affects patient prognosis and may be a potential immunological biomarker. Furthermore, PPM1M may be a potential therapeutic target in tumor immunology.

Intensive care unit (ICU)-acquired pneumonia (ICUAP) is a major concern owing to its associated high mortality rate. Few studies have focused on ICUAP caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae (KP). This study aimed to investigate the risk factors for ICUAP-associated death due to KP and to develop a mortality prediction model. ⋯ The predictive model was effective, with an area under the ROC curve of 0.823 (95% CI: 0.773-0.865). The number of independent risk factors is positively correlated with the risk of death. Our model shows excellent predictive performance.

Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) located in the cesarean scar is a rare disease that has imaging appearances similar to those of an exogenous scar incision pregnancy and is often misdiagnosed due to insufficient clinical experience. ⋯ Clinicians should consider GTN when identifying masses at scar incision sites. Magnetic resonance imaging images improve the understanding of the imaging features in patients suspected of having CSP/GTN.
