Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGB) is classic bariatric procedure with long-term safety and efficacy. However, no studies have focused on predicting long-term weight loss after LRYGB in Chinese patients with body mass index (BMI) ≥ 32.5 kg/m2. To explore the relationship between initial and long-term weight loss after LRYGB in patients with BMI ≥ 32.5 kg/m2. ⋯ The cure rates of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and type 2 diabetes mellitus at 1 year were 84.38%, 33.93%, and 60.82%, respectively. %EWL at 6 months and 5 years were positively correlated and its relationship could be described by following linear equation: %EWL5 years = 43.934 + 0.356 × %EWL6 months (P < .001; r2 = 0.166). The best cutoff %EWL at 6 months after LRYGB to predict 5-year successful weight loss was 63.93% (sensitivity, 53.85%; specificity, 84.62%; area under the curve (AUC) = 0.671). In Chinese patients with BMI ≥ 32.5 kg/m2, %EWL at 6 months and 5 years were positively correlated and %EWL at 5 years could be calculated by following linear equation: %EWL5 years = 43.934 + 0.356 × %EWL6 months.

Intervention for modifying risk level of hypersexual behaviors among male parents with sexual offending history.
The increased sexual assault committed against women and young girls by people of the opposite gender has put their safety in danger in recent years. This has contributed to a growing number of adult sex offenders who have aggressive sexual attitudes. This study investigated the efficacy of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) in reducing the risk level of hypersexual behaviors among male parents. ⋯ Given this, this study suggests that CBT intervention reduces the risk level of hypersexual behaviors among male parents. Implications for protection agencies and policies were highlighted.

The prognostic evaluation of GRIm score has been confirmed in many tumor species. The purpose of this study is to clarify the value of GRIm score in the prognostic evaluation of patients with resectable proximal gastric cancer. A single center retrospective study was conducted in 174 patients with proximal gastric cancer who underwent radical total gastrectomy. ⋯ Both DFS and OS were significantly different between groups (P = .000, P = .000). In multivariate analysis, ZPS (2 vs 0-1: HR 1.99 95% CI 1.05-3.76 P = .035), LDH (≥193 vs <193:HR 0.6; 95% CI 0.38-0.95 P = .028), mGRIm score (2-3 vs 0-1: HR 2.4; 95% CI 1.09-5.23 P = .029) was independent risk factors of OS. The age (>65 vs ≤65 years HR 0.63; 95% CI 0.4-0.95 P = .003), LDH (>193 U/L vs ≤193 U/L: HR 0.55; 95% CI 0.37-0.82 P = .004) and mGRIm score (2-3 vs 0-1: HR 4.74; 95% CI 2.24-9.9 P = .000) as an independent risk factor for DFS. mGRIm score is a novel, simple and effective index for prognosis evaluation of resectable cardiac cancer and can be used as a part of the risk stratification process.

Case Reports
Hemorrhage and necrosis of the liver caused by hepatic arteriovenous malformations in a fetus: A case report.
Hepatic arteriovenous malformations (HAVMs) are a rare disorder reported in association with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), known as Rendu-Osler-Weber syndrome. HAVMs are usually detected in adulthood. ⋯ Prenatal hepatic hemorrhage and necrosis due to an arteriovenous malformation are rare. The authors describe their observations and results.

The purpose of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) treatment is to minimize the negative impact of the current exacerbation and to prevent the development of subsequent events. Therefore, it is important to identify readily available serological indicators during hospital admission to assess the prognosis of patients with AECOPD. All patients hospitalized in a Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine of tertiary care hospital between January 2021 and December 2021 for AECOPD were analyzed using univariate correlations and binary logistic regression analysis with 2 models for associations between demographic, clinical, and laboratory features and AECOPD risk. ⋯ The present study indicated that the Cre/Cys C ratio is an easy, cheap, repeatable, and promising tool that allows us to evaluate the risk of AECOPD using serum markers. A low Cre/Cys C ratio was associated with a prolonged hospital length of stay and admission to the intensive care unit in AECOPD patients. However, the associations were not independent.
