99mTc-sestamibi single photon emission tomography (SPECT) method is widely used for imaging coronary artery disease (CAD). 82-Rubidium-PET is an alternative method that can be used to perform the same purpose. ⋯ This study concludes that 99mTc-MIBI-SPECT has higher diagnostic value for diagnosing CAD compared to 82-Rubidium-PET. This indicates that 99mTc-MIBI-SPECT is a more valuable technique for predicting CAD. Besides, for the stress agents used to stimulate the heart and increase workload, this research/study recommends the use of adenosine for the SPECT and the use of dipyridamole for positron emission tomography. However, it suggests the need for more systemic and theoretical studies to assess the real value of 82-Rubidium-PET and the value of stress agents.

The present study intends to investigate the correlation between neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) in elderly patients with esophageal cancer. Elderly patients >65 years old with esophageal cancer in our department from October 2017 to June 2021 were included in the study. The cognitive function of the patients was assessed by the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) Scale at 1day, 3 days, and 7days after surgery. ⋯ After combination of NLR and PLR, the AUC increased to 0.803 with the sensitivity of 66.7% and specificity of 82.5%. The expression level of postoperative NLR and PLR in elderly patients with esophageal cancer combined with POCD is significantly increased, which is associated with postoperative cognitive impairment. Moreover, the combination of NLR and PLR has a good predictive ability for POCD, which could be used as a potential biomarker for early diagnosis of POCD.

Nursing effect of continuous nursing intervention based on "Internet Plus" on patients with severe adrenal tumor.
Adrenal tumors are a common type of tumor whose incidence increases with age. This study aims to apply the continuous nursing mode of "Internet Plus" to patients with severe adrenal tumors, and preliminarily evaluate the nursing effect of continuous nursing intervention based on "Internet Plus" on patients with severe adrenal tumors. A single-center, retrospective, observational study was carried out on severe adrenal tumor patients. ⋯ The first time to get out of bed (t = 10.64, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 5.32-16.53, P < .001), upper limb swelling to subside time (t = 16.50, 95% CI = 7.21-26.15, P < .001) and the length of hospital stay (t = 11.82, 95% CI = 5.61-17.95, P < .001) were significantly shorter, 72 hours postoperative sleep time (t = 9.46, 95% CI = 4.93-15.48, P < .001) was significantly longer, and the visual analog scale score of 72 hours after operation (t = 15.95, 95% CI = 7.32-24.09, P < .001) was significantly lower in the observation group than that in the control group. After receiving nursing intervention, the scores of somatization (t = 17.56, 95% CI = 9.51-27.96, P < .001), anxiety (t = 21.85, 95% CI = 12.35-33.71, P < .001), depression (t = 18.29, 95% CI = 9.63-28.22, P < .001), self-rating anxiety scale (t = 33.67, 95% CI = 19.65-46.13, P < .001), self-rating depression scale (t = 31.92, 95% CI = 20.73-45.88, P < .001), and the quality of life score (t = 21.54, 95% CI = 8.92-40.37, P < .001) were significantly lower, and the positive coping (t = 16.30, 95% CI = 5.15-18.14, P < .001) and negative coping (t = 20.54, 95% CI = 9.34-33.12, P < .001) scores were significantly higher in the observation group than those in the control group. Nursing intervention based on "Internet Plus" continuous mode can promote the recovery of physical function, reduce psychological pressure and negative emotions, and then improve the quality of life of severe adrenal tumor patients.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted significant disparities in hospital outcomes when focusing on social determinants of health. Better understanding the drivers of these disparities is not only critical for COVID-19 care but also to ensure equitable treatment more generally. In this paper, we look at how hospital admission patterns, both to the medical ward and the intensive care unit (ICU), may have differed by race, ethnicity, and social determinants of health. ⋯ Illicit drug use was associated with an increased likelihood of medical ward admission, potentially due to clinician concerns for complicated withdrawal or blood-stream infections from intravenous drug use. The increased likelihood of ICU admission associated with a primary language other than English may have been driven by communication difficulties or differences in disease severity that our model did not detect. Further work is required to better understand drivers of disparities in hospital COVID-19 care.

Herbal medicines have been used for a long time to treat idiopathic short stature (ISS) in children in East Asian countries. The aim of this study was to analyze the cost-effectiveness of 5 herbal medicines frequently used in clinical settings for children with ISS based on medical records. ⋯ Herbal medicine might be a potential economical alternative treatment for ISS.
