Randomized Controlled Trial
Coaching impact on work-family conflict and occupational stress among educational administrators in primary schools.
Many workers in developing countries have complained about poor working conditions, unhappiness, and job insecurity. As a result, irrationality in employees judgments of the dissatisfactory status of Nigerian organizational environments has been linked to deviant public employee behavior. Apparently, workers in this work environment experience job-induced hazards and distorted feelings about their occupational well-being. With that in mind, we evaluated the impact of rational-emotive occupational health coaching on work-life quality and occupational stress management among educational administrators in Nigeria. ⋯ REOHC is a powerful and useful coaching strategy that improves perceptions of administrators about work-life and job stress in work environment. Based on these results, we recommend REOHC for practitioners in different works of life.

To observe the effect of low-dose propofol combined with dexamethasone on the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in gynaecological day surgery under remimazolam-based general anesthesia. ⋯ The effect of low-dose propofol combined with dexamethasone to prevent PONV under remimazolam-based general anesthesia was similar to that of droperidol combined with dexamethasone, both of which significantly reduced the incidence of PONV in the PACU compared to dexamethasone alone. However, low-dose propofol combined with dexamethasone had little effect on the incidence of PONV within 24 hours compared to dexamethasone alone and only reduced the incidence of postoperative vomiting in patients.

Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a life-threatening syndrome caused by sudden, uncontrolled skeletal muscle hypermetabolism in response to inhalation anesthetics and depolarizing relaxants. The estimated incidence of MH is between 1:10,000 and 1:250,000 anesthetic procedures. In Poland, due to lack of reporting, the incidence of MH is unknown. ⋯ Less than half units (44%) have an algorithm for the management of MH episode in the operating theaters. The results of the study revealed, that the prevalence of MH in Poland is lower than the prevalence reported in other countries. Access to dantrolene in Poland is limited.

There is still a generalized feeling of uncertainty in the population due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, as restrictions on daily routines and social contact, accompanied by a large number of infections, negatively affect different areas of people's lives and, therefore, their mental health. The aim of the present study was to assess the presence of anxiety and fear of COVID-19 in the general UK population, using the Anxiety and Fear to COVID-19 Assessment Scale (Ansiedad y Miedo al COVID-19) (AMICO) scale. A descriptive, cross-sectional study based on a questionnaire was conducted in a sample of the UK general population in 2021. ⋯ Women showed higher scores for the AMICO than men. The bivariate analysis revealed statistically significant differences in relation to self-confidence, amount of information received, and vaccination variables as related to the mean AMICO scores. An average level of anxiety and fear of COVID-19 is shown in the general UK population, which is lower than most of the studies that assessed the impact of the pandemic on the general population.

Lung cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide; non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) comprises approximately 80% of all lung cancer cases. This study aimed to construct a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network and identify prognostic signatures in elderly patients with NSCLC. ⋯ This study provides novel insights into the lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA ceRNA network and reveals potential biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of elderly patients with NSCLC.
