Hyperlipidemia, the most common form of dyslipidemia, is associated with an increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. There is a constant demand for therapeutic agents with relatively few side effects that can be administered from the initial stage of hyperlipidemia, herbal medicines derived from natural products can be considered candidates for treating dyslipidemia. This study aims to explore the feasibility, preliminary effectiveness, and safety of Gyejibongnyeong-Hwan (GBH) in patients with hyperlipidemia. ⋯ This study was permitted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on investigational new drug application on August 12, 2021 and approved by the Institutional Review Board of Kyung Hee University, Seoul, Republic of Korea (KOMCIRB202110012001) on November 26, 2021. The results will be published in a peer-reviewed journal and disseminated electronically and in print.

Family health therapy for treating anxiety symptoms in flood victims.
Flood cases in so many parts of Nigeria, especially in Anambra state and the accruing psychological and health related problems, affecting members of families and society necessitated this study. In view to assist and help affected individuals who specialized in farming therapeutically, this study investigated the effect of rational emotive family health therapy (REFHT) on flood-induced anxiety disorders among farmers in Anambra state Nigeria. This study was guided with 3 null hypotheses. ⋯ REFHT was significantly effective in reducing flood-induced anxiety disorders among farmers. Based on the findings, this study recommended among others that rational-emotive therapists and family health professionals should liaise with community leaders to provide career counseling services to farmers and establishment of community-based rational emotive institute for each state in Nigeria.

Nux Vomica (NV) has the effects of dredging collaterals, relieving pain, dispersing knots, and detumescence, and has a verified effect in treating ischemic stroke (IS), but its molecular mechanism for treating IS remains unclear. In this study, network pharmacology and molecular docking methods were adopted to explore the pharmacological mechanism of NV in treating IS. ⋯ This study revealed that NV exerts its therapeutic effect on IS through multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway, which provides a basis for clinical treatment of IS.

Anti-SOX1 antibodies-positive paraneoplastic neurological syndromes caused by thyroid carcinoma: A case report.
Paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNSs) are a group of neurological diseases caused by distant immune effects of malignant tumors, which often occur in patients with small cell lung cancer but are not prone to occur in patients with thyroid cancer. Anti-Sry-like high mobility group box (SOX)1 antibodies (abs)-associated PNSs caused by thyroid cancer are clinically rarer. ⋯ Thyroid cancer can cause anti-SOX1 abs-associated PNS with only autonomic neuropathy.

Endogenous fungal endophthalmitis is a challenging condition. There are no universally accepted diagnostic or management protocols. We share a case of endogenous fungal endophthalmitis who was successfully treated, focusing on the diagnostic and treatment procedures. ⋯ Early and correct diagnosis, coupled with prompt and aggressive treatment, is crucial for cases of fungal endogenous endophthalmitis. Deoxyribonucleic acid sequencing techniques can contribute to early diagnosis, while vitrectomy may be necessary when antifungal medication is insufficient in controlling the condition.
