Deep tissue massage (DTM) is a form of therapeutic massage therapy for muscles and is often used to treat musculoskeletal pain. This was an uncommon case of acute cervical radiculopathy that occurred after DTM. ⋯ DTM of the anterior scalene muscle should be carefully performed to avoid cervical nerve root injury, particularly in underweight patients.

Acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic renal failure, and tubular abnormalities represent the kidney disease spectrum of malignancy. Prompt diagnosis and treatment may prevent or reverse these complications. The pathogenesis of AKI in cancer is multifactorial. ⋯ Clinicians' awareness of all the potential causes of cancer-related complications is essential, and a kidney biopsy should be conducted to confirm the kidney pathologies. Chronic kidney disease is a known complication in malignancy and therapies. Hence, avoiding nephrotoxic drugs, dose standardization, and early cancer detection are mandatory measures to prevent renal involvement.

Dysregulation of adipokines may play a role in the development of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This was a retrospective case-control study to investigate the relationship between asprosin and insulin resistance in patients with PCOS patients. The study enrolled 213 PCOS patients and 213 age-matched and body mass index-matched controls. ⋯ In the current study, it was found that the serum asprosin level and hemostasis of model assessment-insulin resistance of PCOS were significantly higher than those of the control group, and asprosin was independently correlated with hemostasis of model assessment-insulin resistance and CRP (P < .05). Asprosin was found to be statistically significant in the analysis of receiver operating characteristics, and the specific result was 0.826 (0.724-0.879). This study emphasizes that increased levels of asprosin are independently associated with PCOS, and asprosin may be a new indicator for evaluating insulin resistance in PCOS patients.

Roxadustat has been associated with the efficacy and safety in patients with chronic kidney disease-related anemia. However, the relationship between roxadustat blood concentration and clinical efficacy is lacking. To explore of the correlation between clinical efficacy and blood concentration of roxadustat in patients with renal anemia of chronic kidney diseases, so as to provide reference for rational clinical drug use. ⋯ The patients in the response group had higher roxadustat blood concentrations than the nonresponse group (P < .05), and there was no correlation between blood concentration and clinical characteristics such as age, gender, and dosage (P > .05). The blood concentration of roxadustat was correlated with clinical efficacy. The higher the blood concentration, the better the clinical efficacy, meaning it might be a predictor of efficacy.

Malignant change from low-grade dysplasia to high-grade dysplasia and invasive carcinoma following an adenoma-carcinoma sequence is becoming more common in intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) of the pancreas. The aim of this study is to analyze their main characteristics and recent research trends in IPMNs and consequently create better understandings of the current situation and trends. ⋯ In this study, we found and highlight the most cited and influential articles related to IPMN. Plus, this study analyzed global research trends in IPMN over the past 30 years and provides insight into the features and research hotspots of the articles in IPMN research.
