Review Case Reports
Descending necrotizing mediastinitis caused by Streptococcus constellatus: A case report and review of the literature.
Descending necrotizing mediastinitis (DNM) is a rare but severe mediastinal infection. If not diagnosed and treated promptly, the consequences can be very serious. Here, we shared a successful diagnosis and treatment case of DNM that originates from oral to neck and mediastinum caused by Streptococcus constellatus (S constellatus). S constellatus is a clinically uncommon gram-positive coccus and is known for its ability to form abscesses. Timely surgical drainage and the correct use of antibiotics are key to successful treatment. ⋯ Early surgical drainage and antibiotics treatment are important in mediastinal abscesses and infectious shock due to Streptococcus asteroids.

Multicenter Study
The influencing factors of choosing future medical specialties among students in Saudi Arabia: A nationwide multicenter survey.
Choosing a future medical speciality is considered one of the most critical challenges for undergraduate students worldwide. The present study assessed the influences and factors related to medical students career choices in Saudi Arabia. The study was designed in a cross-sectional manner to collect data from all undergraduate medical students and interns in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 5 months, starting from September 2021 and ending in January 2022. ⋯ A student's lower grade point average, the lower average monthly income of their family, lack of working relative in the healthcare field and absence of advice about future specialities are all significant predictors for stopping specialities endeavor. Our study concluded that students career choices depend on different factors, including gender based preferences and that their specialized preferences did not change considerably prior to or after graduation. Further studies are required to analyze the factors influencing student and intern speciality preferences in their early clinical and career years.

Thyroid storm (TS), also known as thyroid crisis, is a life-threatening condition that involves multiple organ dysfunction and high mortality due to uncontrolled hyperthyroidism. TS in children is extremely rare, early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve the prognosis of the children. ⋯ TS should be identified timely and treated early. Further studies are needed to determine the diagnostic criteria and scoring system for TS in pediatric.

Chronic kidney disease-mineral and bone disorder has complex and diverse clinical manifestations, including the simplest abnormalities of calcium, phosphorus and parathyroid hormone detected in blood, abnormalities of bone transformation and mineralization in bone, and calcification of blood vessels or other soft tissues detected on imaging. Patients with CKD-MBD combined low bone mineral density and fragility fractures are referred to as CKD-MBD with low bone mineral density. Vascular calcification refers to ectopic deposition of calcium phosphate in the blood vessel walls and heart valves. ⋯ Activation and alteration of the Wnt signaling pathway are central to the treatment of vascular diseases in uremia. Vitamin D supplementation can prevent secondary hyperparathyroidism, activate osteoblasts, relieve muscle weakness and myalgia, and reduce vascular calcification. Nutritional vitamin D may improve vascular calcification in uremia patients by regulating Wnt signaling pathway.

Effects of school sandplay group therapy on children victims of cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying among children is increasing every year, leading to serious public health problems. Victims suffer serious aftereffects such as depression and suicidal ideation; therefore, early and appropriate psychological intervention and the role of schools are emphasized. This study investigated the effects of school sandplay group therapy (SSGT) on children affected by cyberbullying. ⋯ In this study, the SSGT group showed a significant decrease in depression and suicidal ideation compared to the control group after sandplay group therapy (SGT), and a significant increase in self-esteem. It was confirmed that SSGT can mitigate the negative consequences of cyberbullying and strengthen protective factors. This suggests that the SSGT can be successfully used for crisis counseling.
