Long noncoding RNA MCM3AP-AS1 plays critical roles in cancers, but its role in atherosclerosis is yet to be elucidated. The expression of MCM3AP-AS1 in atherosclerosis and control plasma samples were measured by RT-qPCR. IntaRNA was used to predict potential base pairings between MCM3AP-AS1 and miR-448, and the results were confirmed by a dual luciferase activity assay. ⋯ In contrast, overexpression of MCM3AP-AS1 increased the expression levels of MEF2-C, which can be targeted by miR-448. Moreover, MCM3AP-AS1 was found to inhibit the effects of miR-448 overexpression on both HAOSMC proliferation and MEF2-C expression. MCM3AP-AS1 is downregulated in atherosclerosis and sponges miR-448 to suppress the proliferation of HAOSMCs.

Although the cornerstone treatment for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) remains anticoagulation, clinicians perform stenting or angioplasty (SA) in particular patients. To assess the effects of SA in this setting, we performed a systematic review of randomized controlled trials. ⋯ SA results in little to no difference in PTS, VTE and mortality in acute DVT compared to BMP. The evidence regarding SA in chronic DVT and whether SA, compared to BMP and thrombolysis, decreases PTS and VTE in acute DVT is uncertain. Open Science Framework (osf.io/f2dm6).

Effectiveness of scapular mobilization in patients with primary adhesive capsulitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of scapular mobilization on range of motion, shoulder disability, and pain intensity in patients with primary adhesive capsulitis (AC). ⋯ Scapular mobilization with or without other therapeutic interventions does not provide a significant clinical benefit regarding active shoulder range of motion, disability, or pain intensity in patients with primary AC, compared with other manual therapy techniques or other treatments; the quality of evidence was very low to moderate according to the grading of recommendation, assessment, development and evaluation approach.

Efficacy and safety of treatment with or without pertuzumab for HER2-positive breast cancer: A meta-analysis.
We conducted a meta-analysis to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with or without pertuzumab for human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 -positive (HER2)-positive breast cancer and provided evidence-based reference for clinical use. ⋯ These results support that the treatment in combination with pertuzumab is superior to the treatment in combination without pertuzumab in the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer, but there are some adverse effects such as diarrhea, anemia, and rash, which should be carefully monitored in clinical practice.

The preoperative C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio is a novel inflammation-based prognostic marker in various cancers. However, its prognostic role in biliary tract cancer is unknown. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the prognostic value of preoperative C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio in biliary tract cancer. ⋯ An elevated preoperative C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio is significantly associated with poor prognosis in patients undergoing surgery for biliary tract cancer. The C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio may be an independent prognostic biomarker for overall survival and recurrence-free survival in patients undergoing surgery for biliary tract cancer.
