Breast augmentation is usually performed by inserting implants into the breasts. However, injectable fillers are sometimes used for the convenience of both patients and surgeons. If foreign substances, such as biomaterials, are injected into the body, complications such as inflammation, granuloma, and tissue necrosis can occur owing to foreign body reactions. ⋯ The use of injectable fillers for breast augmentation carries the risk of misdiagnosis, and, therefore, surgeons should always exercise caution.

Studies investigating the association between the phase angle (PA) and frailty are scarce. The PA is considered a practical, low-cost, noninvasive measure for the early identification of this clinical condition. To investigate the association between PA and frailty/pre-frailty, nutritional and clinical aspects in older people. ⋯ In the multiple linear regression analysis, age and ASMMI were shown to be potential independent predictors for PA. Age showed an inverse correlation with PA, while ASMMI showed a direct correlation. No association was found between PA and frailty or pre-frailty.

The point shear wave elastography and supersonic shear imaging methods were compared regarding incorrect measurements during the liver examinations. A report-based, single-center, retrospective analysis of 425 liver elastography examinations was performed. ⋯ In our center experience, it is easier to obtain diagnostic data using the supersonic shear imaging method. However, further investigation of the subject is needed.

Polypharmacy has become a major health issue for pregnant woman due to the increased trend of medication use during pregnancy. However, data on medication use in pregnancy are limited since pregnant women are rarely included in clinical trials. Our study aimed to investigate the trends of and characteristics associated with polypharmacy among pregnant women in the US. ⋯ Regarding personal characteristics, women with a poor or fair self-reported general health condition (odds ratio: 5.12, 95% confidence interval: 1.23-21.34) and those with chronic conditions (odds ratio: 6.91, 95% confidence interval: 3.08-15.50) were found to be associated with polypharmacy. An increased trend of polypharmacy was found in the US from 1999 to 2016. Non-Hispanic white pregnant women with a poor health status and chronic diseases were at an increased risk of polypharmacy.
