Meta Analysis
The efficacy and safety of duloxetine for the treatment of patients after TKA or THA: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Duloxetine, a serotonin-norepinephrine dual reuptake inhibitor, may improve analgesia after total joint arthroplasty (TJA). However, there is still no consensus on its effectiveness and safety. We conducted the meta-analysis to investigate the analgesic effect and safety of duloxetine for the treatment of patients received total knee or hip arthroplasty. ⋯ Duloxetine could decrease the opioids consumption and relieve early postoperative pain without increasing the risk of adverse medication effects in patients undergoing total knee or hip arthroplasty. Considering the ongoing opioid epidemic, duloxetine could act as a good supplement in multimodal pain management protocol for patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty.

Paroxetine therapy has been used for treatment of patients with depression and Parkinson's disease (dPD) in many clinical studies, but, the effects of paroxetine in dPD patients are not completely understood. The aim of this study was to systematically evaluate the effects of paroxetine therapy on depressive symptom and motor function in the treatment of dPD, in order to confer a reference for clinical practice. ⋯ Paroxetine therapy has clinical benefits for improvement of depressive symptom and motor function in dPD patients, moreover, it is of high drug safety. Further well-designed, multi-center RCTs needed to identify these findings.

Review Case Reports
Efficacy of 3rd generation TKI in patients with EGFR mutation lung adenocarcinoma with bone metastases: A review of 3 case reports and literature.
With the advancement of targeted therapies, epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors have become the preferred initial treatment for patients with advanced epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-mutated non-small cell lung cancer. Osimertinib, a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is effective against exon 19 and 21 mutations as well as the T790M mutation. It has been approved by both the food and drug administration and European Medicines Agency for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer patients with locally advanced or metastatic EGFR-mutated tumors, including those who have acquired T790M mutations. ⋯ These cases suggest that osimertinib is a promising treatment option for patients with EGFR 19 deletion-mutated lung adenocarcinoma and bone metastases, although further clinical studies are needed to confirm its efficacy.

Meta Analysis
The effect of gender on the clinical outcome of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor in advanced lung cancer patients.
Programmed death protein-1/ligand-1 (PD-1/L1) inhibitors have widely used in the treatment of lung cancer. Some literatures indicated that different gender might not have equal immune response, but no agreement have reached on the issue. Hence, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis that examine the effect of gender on the clinical outcome of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor in advanced lung cancer patients. ⋯ The clinical benefit of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors was not statistically significant between males and females during the treatment of lung cancer. In the future, researchers who are designing new immunotherapy studies should ensure a larger inclusion of women in trials, to avoid erroneously extending to women results that are obtained mainly in male patients.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has ravaged the world since December 2019. Up to now, it is still prevalent around the world. Vaccines are an important means to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and reduce severe disease and mortality. ⋯ Among them, the advantages of COVID-19 messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccine, such as better adaptability to variant strains and better immune response ability, have attracted great attention. However, different populations with different genders, ages, previous COVID-19 infection history, underlying diseases and treatments will show different antibody responses after mRNA vaccination, which will affect the protection of the vaccine. Based on this, this paper reviews the reports related severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 mRNA vaccines, and summarizes the effectiveness of vaccines in different populations and different disease states and looked forward to the precise vaccination strategy of the vaccine in the future.
