Many factors can contribute to the development of macular injury, which results in vision loss as a result of a disease. Heredity, age, underlying eye illness, internal eye surgery, or eye trauma can all cause it. A safer alternative to current therapies for macular degeneration is urgently needed since they all induce ocular irritation and postoperative recurrence as well as a host of other adverse effects. ⋯ No additional medication or surgical procedure was employed in this instance. We treated the macular damage with acupuncture, which relieved the patient's clinical symptoms and had no adverse effects. This demonstrates that acupuncture may be beneficial in treating ophthalmopathy in this direction.

To analyze the factors associated with infection after flap transfer for hand trauma and use them to develop nursing strategies and observe the effects of their application. Eighty-two patients admitted to our hospital for flap transfer for hand trauma from January 2020 to May 2020 were selected for the retrospective analysis. Logistic regression analysis was performed to analyze the factors associated with postoperative infections to develop care strategies. ⋯ Finally, total satisfaction was higher in the observation group than in the control group (P < .05). Postoperative bedtime, fixation of the affected limb, and pain are independent factors affecting postoperative infection after flap transfer for hand trauma. Implementing infection prevention care strategies based on these factors can effectively improve the safety of flap transfer, reduce the possibility of infection, and shorten the recovery period of patients, which has high clinical application value.

To investigate the effect of free lateral tarsal artery perforator flap in the repair of the volar skin defect of the thumb. From January 2020 to December 2022, the free lateral tarsal artery perforator flap was used to repair the skin defect of the palmar side of the thumb in 11 cases. There were 9 males and 2 females with an average age of 45 years (range, 35-62 years). ⋯ At the last follow-up, 8 cases were excellent and 3 cases were good according to the trial standard of upper limb function evaluation of the Chinese Society of Hand Surgery of the Chinese Medical Association, and the excellent and good rate was 100%. There was no significant effect on the sensation and function of the feet in the donor site, and the patient satisfaction was high. Free lateral tarsal artery perforator flap is a good choice to repair the skin defect of the palmar side of the thumb because of its simple operation, high survival rate and good sensory recovery of the recipient area.

Filtration surgery (Trabeculectomy) is the main treatment for glaucoma. The scarring of the filtration bleb and obstruction of the outflow of aqueous humor through the filtration channel are the main reasons of the surgery failure. The objective of this study was to determine the clinical efficacy of needle revision of filtration blebs combined with subconjunctival injection of conbercept on the functional bleb formation in glaucoma patients with eye pressure out of control after trabeculectomy. ⋯ Five patients had intraoperative conjunctival hemorrhage in the anterior chamber, and hyphema occurred. All complications were self-limited and resolved without surgical intervention. Needle revision of filtration bleb combined with anti-VEGF drugs is a safe and effective method for the treatment of filtration bleb dysfunction after surgery of glaucoma.

Observational Study
Analysis of the sacroiliac joint vacuum phenomenon in adolescent thoracic idiopathic scoliosis (Lenke types 1 and 2).
The sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is the largest axial joint in the human body, and the SIJ vacuum phenomenon (SIJ VP) is a common finding in computed tomography studies of the abdomen, pelvis, and lumbosacral spine in adults, with the incidence increasing with age. Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is an abnormal spinal curvature that appears during adolescence and places abnormal stress on the SIJs. This retrospective observational study aimed to investigate the incidence of the SIJ VP in thoracic AIS (Lenke types 1 and 2). ⋯ All lumbar modifier type C belonged to the VP present group, whereas none to VP absent group. Our results suggest an association between AIS and SIJ VP and SIJ cysts. SIJ VP and SIJ cysts in AIS may be caused and accelerated by abnormal mechanical stress on SIJ due to spinal deformity.
