Adipose tissue, being an organ of the endocrine system, can influence the severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Even though several inflammatory markers can potentially significantly influence lung function, the precise function of adipokines, like adiponectin, in COPD is still disputed. To analyze the association of COPD with adiponectin concentrations, a meta-analysis of the most recent literature and single-cell sequencing data were conducted. ⋯ This meta-analysis suggests that the levels of plasma/serum adiponectin are significantly elevated in patients with COPD versus controls. Tumor necrosis factor-α, FEV1/FVC, and FEV1% may all be associated with the concentrations of adiponectin.

To systematically analyze the value of human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) and carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) in the diagnosis of endometrial cancer, so as to provide evidence-based medical evidence for the selection of serum tumor markers in the early screening of endometrial cancer. ⋯ This Meta-analysis found that HE4 alone or in combination with CA125 showed better diagnostic efficacy than CA125, regardless of clinical stage and pathological type. HE4 + CA125 had slightly higher diagnostic efficiency than HE4, but did not show significant advantages. While the studies were heterogeneous, the credibility of the findings needs to be further confirmed by more homogeneous, prospective, and large sample size studies.

Meta Analysis
Effects of family centered nursing model on children with primary nephrotic syndrome: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Family-centered nursing model has been widely used in the care of children patients, but there is still a lack of research on the care of children with primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS). Therefore, the aim of this study was to comprehensively evaluate the effects of family-centered nursing on children with PNS. ⋯ Family-centered nursing model can improve the QoL of children with PNS, increase the nursing satisfaction of family members and reduce the length of hospital stay, but further research need to verify its impact on behavioral problems.

The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy of surgical treatment and conservative treatment for cervical spinal cord injury without fracture and dislocation (CSCIWFD) in adults by meta-analysis. ⋯ Surgical treatment can improve the effective rate and JOA score of adult patients with CSCIWFD compared to conservative treatment. This suggests that surgical treatment can significantly improve the patient's spinal cord function.

Observational Study
Effect of surgery on sensory eye balance in patients with intermittent exotropia: An observational study.
To evaluate the impact of strabismus surgery on sensory eye balance in patients with intermittent exotropia (IXT). In total, 112 IXT patients with ocular alignment at the first strabismus surgery and 34 controls were enrolled from January 2015 to December 2016 in this retrospective study. The effective contrast ratio (ECR) of non-dominant eyes was measured by binocular phase combination paradigm before and 3 months after surgery, and the degree of sensory eye balance was quantitatively evaluated and compared between IXT patients and controls. ⋯ In addition, the postoperative ECR was significantly higher than the preoperative ECR (P < .001). The ECR change was not correlated with age orstrabismus degree measured with a6 m accommodative target (both P > .05), while significant negative correlation was observed between the ECR change and strabismus degree measured with a 33 cm accommodative target (P = .002). Strabismus surgery can significantly reduce the degree of sensory eye imbalance in patients with IXT, while further treatment aimed at rebalancing the ocular dominance might be necessary for more efficient binocular visual processing in the long-term.
