The risk of developing colorectal neoplasia in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) is increased. The purpose of this study is to analyze the risk factors of UC-associated neoplasia (UCAN) in UC patients and establish a clinical prediction model. 828 UC patients were included in this retrospective study. 602 patients were in discovery cohort and 226 patients were in validation cohort (internal validation cohort/external validation cohort: 120/106). Clinical and endoscopic data were collected. ⋯ The AUC of internal validation cohort was 0.901 (95%CI: 0.815, 0.988), sensitivity was 75.0% and specificity was 92.6%. The AUC of external validation cohort was 0.842 (95%CI: 0.709, 0.976), sensitivity was 62.5% and specificity was 93.9%. This prediction model is simple, practical, and effective for predicting the risk of UCAN, which is beneficial to the individualized management of patients with UC.

Endometrial vascular dystrophy refers to abnormal vessels that are very tortuous, dilated, and sometimes thrombosed. Endometrial vascular dystrophy is rare under hysteroscopy. ⋯ Endometrial vascular dystrophy is a rare hysteroscopy phenomenon shown in the secretory endometrium. We believe that it was a capillary loop with different manifestations.

The present study was conceptualized as a pilot study to examine the effects of a 3-week program consisting of strain/counterstrain technique (SCST), phonophoresis, heat therapy, and stretching exercises on pain and functions in patients with temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD). ⋯ A 3-week program consisting of SCST, phonophoresis, heat therapy, and stretching exercises was effective in reducing the pain and improving the functions related to TMJ in patients suffering from TMD. However, a randomized controlled trial is needed to reach a definite conclusion.

There is a scarcity of studies focusing on irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and anxiety in Egypt. Accordingly, our study aimed to assess the association between anxiety and IBS symptomatology among Egyptian females. Three hundred eighty-three females (145 IBS and 238 controls) were included in the study, and data were obtained using structured predesigned questionnaires. ⋯ A unit increase in patients age and beck anxiety inventory score was associated with 68% and 75% greater odds for increased IBS symptoms, respectively (OR: 1.68, 95% CI 1.12-2.53, P value = .012; OR: 1.75, 95% CI 1.08-2.84, P value = .024). Increasing anxiety is associated with increased IBS symptoms. Therefore, IBS patients should be screened for anxiety, and the role of psychiatric management of anxiety in the amelioration of IBS symptoms must be explored.

Neurosarcoidosis tends to prolong the duration of treatment and may result in a decline in physical function requiring rehabilitation. Because of a rare disease, the adjustment of oral steroid dosage, which is the cornerstone of treatment, is highly dependent on professional experience in general. Therefore, the number of hospitals that can perform dosage adjustment is very limited, and it is difficult to provide concurrent intense rehabilitation at the same hospital over a long period of time, and there are no reports that mention this. ⋯ Intensive rehabilitation can be one of the effective comprehensive treatment strategy for patients with neurosarcoidosis. On the other hand, since there is no consensus treatment method, the duration of rehabilitation and goal setting should be adjusted based on an understanding of the characteristics of the disease and the overall treatment plan.
