Case Reports
Cardiac tamponade due to eosinophilia treated with intravenous corticosteroid: A case report.
Cardiac tamponade, a condition in which the heart is compressed by pericardial fluid retention, is easy to diagnose; however, identifying the cause may be challenging since it can be caused by a variety of conditions, including trauma and pericardial disease. ⋯ This case presented with cardiac tamponade associated with eosinophilia, probably owing to graft-versus-host disease. This is an unusual condition associated with a history of hematologic neoplasms; although evaluation is challenging, appropriate assessment could help save the patient's life.

Effects of high-intensity interval training with an eccentric hamstring exercise program in futsal players: A randomized controlled trial.
Physiotherapy protocols based on high-intensity interval training (HIIT) or eccentric hamstring exercises like Nordic Curl (NC) have been scarcely studied in futsal players. The objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of a HIIT combined with an NC exercise program versus a HIIT-only program in futsal players. ⋯ Both an isolated HIIT protocol and HIIT in combination with NC exercise improved intermittent work performance in futsal players. The present study's findings may guide futsal players' physical preparation and injury prevention programs.

Ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 2 (ENPP2) has been identified as a potential biomarker in lung and prostate cancers; however, its expression and clinical relevance in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain incompletely understood. This study comprehensively assessed ENPP2 expression in pan-cancer using bioinformatics. We analyzed the expression of ENPP2 mRNA in primary liver cancer and adjacent tissues of patients with HCC using data from the TCGA database. ⋯ ENPP2's diagnostic value in HCC patients was confirmed by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve, which was 0.806. real-time PCR analysis validated the higher expression of ENPP2 in clinical liver cancer tissues. Gene set enrichment analysis identified pathways enriched in HCC patients with high ENPP2 expression, including those related to the cell cycle, MTOR and T cell receptor signaling, and phosphatidylinositol signaling systems. We have demonstrated that ENPP2 is highly expressed in HCC and is a potential independent molecular marker for the diagnosis and prognosis of HCC.

Effect of tibialis anterior muscle resistance training on ankle and foot dorsum extension function in hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage hemiplegia patients: A randomized controlled trial.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of tibialis anterior muscle resistance training on ankle and foot dorsum extension function in patients with hemiplegia caused by hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. ⋯ Tibialis anterior muscle resistance training can effectively improve the strength of the tibialis anterior muscle in patients with hemiplegia caused by hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage, reduce tension in the triceps calf muscle, and improve ankle joint function and foot dorsum extension.

We aimed to present our 20-year experience of using the deep inferior epigastric vessels as recipient vessels for free scapular flaps phalloplasty and evaluate the outcomes. Penile reconstruction was performed using a free scapular flap between 2000 and 2020 by the same surgical team. Deep inferior epigastric vessels were used in all the cases. ⋯ DIEA is a suitable receptor artery for inflow. The DIEV, SIEV, and SCIV are available options for venous drainage according to the patient anatomical characteristics. The GSV can be an excellent backup for outflow and salvage procedures.
