The study aimed to evaluate survival rates and prognosis in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH) using meta-analysis. ⋯ The 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates of SLE-PH patients in recent years (0.9020, 0.8363, 0.7301) were estimated in this study. SLE-PH patients diagnosed by echocardiography have a worse long-term prognosis than those diagnosed by right heart catheterization. Studies after 2015 have shown significantly better survival than earlier studies.

To assess the safety and efficacy of sorafenib and sunitinib as first-line treatments for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC), to provide evidence-based support for clinical decision-making regarding rational drug use. ⋯ In the first-line treatment of mRCC, sorafenib exhibits comparable efficacy to sunitinib but with lower toxicity.

Research has demonstrated that obesity is an important risk factor for cancer progression. Orlistat is a lipase inhibitor with promising therapeutic effects on obesity. ⋯ It can induce tumor cells apoptosis or death, interfere with tumor cells' cycles controlling, suppress fatty acid synthase activity, increase ferroptosis, inhibit tumor angiogenesis, and improve tumor cells glycolytic. Thus, this review may shed new light on anti-tumor mechanism and drug repurposing of orlistat, and anti-tumor drug development.

To compare the effect of laparoscopic surgery and open surgery on the quality of life of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) in the growth period after the operation, and to provide a reference for surgical treatment decisions of patients with CRC. ⋯ Compared with open surgery, laparoscopic surgery has weak advantages. There was no noteworthy difference in the long-term quality of life between the 2 surgical treatments for CRC patients. Whether laparoscopic surgery can bring more improvement to the quality of life of patients with CRC needs more high-quality clinical randomized studies to verify.

Currently, the therapies for brain metastases of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) mainly include whole brain radiotherapy and icotinib. For exploring the efficacy and safety of radiotherapy and icotinib, a meta-analysis was performed based on a series of data. ⋯ Icotinib combined with radiotherapy can significantly short-term and long-term efficacy of NSCLC patients with brain metastases but not increase adverse reactions.
