We previously reported respiratory involvement in 25 patients with autoimmune pancreatitis, a pancreatic manifestation of IgG4-related disease that responds well to glucocorticoid treatment. However, whether all respiratory lesions in patients with autoimmune pancreatitis have genuine respiratory involvement is unclear. This study aimed to update respiratory lesions' clinical and radiological characteristics in patients with autoimmune pancreatitis. ⋯ Therefore, these lesions with poor response to glucocorticoid treatment should not be considered due to respiratory involvement of autoimmune pancreatitis based on the current classification criteria for IgG4-related disease. Patients with autoimmune pancreatitis and respiratory lesions exhibited higher disease activity than those without. Most chest high-resolution computed tomography lesions were responsive to glucocorticoid treatment, whereas reticular opacities and emphysema were poorly responsive.

Acute effects of muscle vibration on elbow joint position sense in healthy young men: A randomized trial.
The study aimed to investigate and compare the acute effects of 2 local vibration frequencies (63 Hz vs 42 Hz frequencies) applied to the biceps brachii muscles on the elbow joint position sense (JPS) in healthy young men. ⋯ There was no acute effect of vibration of the biceps brachii muscle at 63 and 42 Hz on active elbow JPS in healthy adults.

We predicted that marital status may have predictive effects on young adult patients with cancer. A total of 37,028 young adult patients (20-39 years old) newly diagnosed with lymphoma by positive histology between 1988 and 2015 were collected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. Patients were separated into married and unmarried groups. ⋯ Moreover, married patients reported enhanced 10-year overall survival in the original group and the matched cohort. The multivariable Cox regression analysis revealed a vital advantageous influence of married status on overall mortality, with an adjusted hazard ratio (HR) of 0.54 (95% CI, 0.51-0.57, P < .001) and the association remained robust after propensity score matching (HR, 0.53, 95% CI 0.51-0.55, P < .001) and inverse probability of treatment weighting (HR, 0.53, 95% CI 0.51-0.56, P < .001) after adjusting for confounding factors. Marital status had predictive significance for overall survival in young adult patients with lymphoma.

Anoikis, a mode of programmed cell death, is essential for normal development and homeostasis in the organism and plays an important role in the onset and progression of cancers. The authors of this research sought to establish a gene signature associated with anoikis to predict therapy outcomes and patient prognosis for individuals with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Transcriptome data of anoikis-related genes (ARGs) in individuals with HNSCC were retrieved from public databases to aid in the formulation of the gene signature. ⋯ However, the high-risk patients responded better to chemotherapy. The aim of this research was to develop a new ARG signature to predict the prognosis and sensitivity to immunotherapeutic and chemotherapeutic schemes for HNSCC patient. As a result, this could help spur the creation of new chemotherapeutics and immunotherapeutic approaches for patients with HNSCC.

The vascular supply to the neck and body of the pancreas is highly variable. The dorsal pancreatic artery is the dominant artery feeding this area. The aim of this study was to describe the vascular supply of postresection pancreatic remnants after pancreaticoduodenectomy. Patients with hazardous anatomical arrangement may be at a higher risk of postresection remnant ischemia and postoperative pancreatic fistula development. ⋯ In 30% of cases, the arterial supply of the postresection pancreatic remnant was dependent on inconstant intraparenchymal arterial anastomoses. These patients may be at a higher risk of postoperative pancreatic fistula development.
