The diagnosis of Gentleman syndrome (GS) is usually delayed because the clinical symptoms are easily mistaken. ⋯ Our finding broadens the variant spectrum of SLC12A3 and contributes to a more quickly genetic counseling. As a result, when a patient presents with persistent, unspecified, and inadequately treated hypokalemia, tests for GS should indeed be considered. For suspected cases of GS, genetic testing should always be considered in the diagnosis.

With a high failure rate and multiple postoperative complications, the resection for tumors in the elbow and reconstruction present a formidable challenge to orthopedic surgeons. The maturation of 3-dimension (3D) printing technology has facilitated the preoperative design, intraoperative navigation, and reconstruction of bone defects in patients with complex malignant tumors of the elbow joint. In order to improve prognosis, we explored a method of tumor resection and elbow reconstruction aided by 3D printing technology in this research. ⋯ For patients with complex tumors in the elbow joint, 3D printing technology may assist in the precise excision of the tumor and provide an individualized elbow joint prosthesis that is more precise and effective than traditional surgery. It can accomplish a satisfactory treatment effect for patients when combined with early postoperative scientific rehabilitation training, so it is a method worth promoting.

Pulmonary inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare borderline tumor, which has the potential of malignant including invasion of surrounding tissues, distant metastasis and recurrence. However, the preoperative diagnosis is difficult and it can also be difficult to distinguish from malignancy in small tissue samples. Preoperative accurate diagnosis has important clinical significance for patients to choose treatment measures and improve the quality of rehabilitation. We was examined by computed tomography (CT) plain scan plus enhanced scan, magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) imaging technology in an adult female, compared with lung cancer and pulmonary cryptococcus infection for diagnosis of pulmonary IMT. ⋯ Although accurate preoperative diagnosis of pulmonary IMT is difficult. Chest CT examination combined with DWI and ADC imaging technology has high clinical significance for the diagnosis of IMT.

The physiological effects of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), leading to beneficial metabolic outcomes, have been extensively revealed in recent decades. Significantly elevated serum levels of FGF21 in obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are referred to as FGF21 resistance. However, Asian population tend to develop metabolic disorders at a lesser degree of obesity than those of Western. ⋯ Moreover, PAI-1 was a significant predictor of FGF21 in those with FLI < 60, BMI < 25.0 kg/m2, and HOMA-R < median, while leptin was the only independent factor in each of their counterparts. The factors related to serum FGF21 differ according to the severity of metabolic disorders. FGF21 appears to be independently associated with PAI-1 in T2DM patients: without overweight/obesity, those free of insulin resistance, and those without hepatic steatosis.

The leading cause of end-stage renal disease is diabetic nephropathy (DN). A key factor in DN is immune cell infiltration (ICI). It has been shown that immune-related genes play a significant role in inflammation and immune cell recruitment. However, neither the underlying mechanisms nor immune-related biomarkers have been identified in DNs. Using bioinformatics, this study investigated biomarkers associated with immunity in DN. ⋯ This study was based on bioinformatics technology to analyze the biomarkers of immune related genes in diabetes nephropathy. To analyze the pathogenesis of diabetes nephropathy at the RNA level, and ultimately provide guidance for disease diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.
