Dose-response effects of 8-week resistance training on body composition and muscular performance in untrained young women: A quasi-experimental design.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 8-week resistance training with different training volumes on body composition, maximum strength, peak power, and muscle thickness in non-training women. ⋯ In untrained young women, resistance training improved muscle hypertrophy, maximal strength, power, and body composition in untrained young women. However, 4 sessions MVT per week were superior to LVT and HVT sessions, suggesting a nonlinear dose-response relationship favoring moderate volume over low or high volumes, at least in previously untrained young women.

The effect of Baduanjin on body mass and body composition of college students: A randomized controlled trial.
Previous studies have also found that Baduanjin training can improve health-related physical fitness in young adults. However, it is unclear whether Baduanjin training can improve body mass and body composition in young adults. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the Baduanjin training on body mass and body composition in college students. ⋯ Regular Baduanjin exercise training may be beneficial for improving body composition in young adults.

Effectiveness of refined nursing intervention on postoperative recovery and respiratory function in lung cancer patients after thoracic surgery.
To evaluate the effectiveness of refined nursing intervention versus routine nursing care in improving respiratory function and facilitating their recovery in lung cancer patients after thoracic surgery. Total 75 primary lung cancer patients (average age: 55.3 ± 10.8 years) who underwent thoracic surgery at Tangshan People's Hospital from February 2024 to July 2024 were included in the study. According to the different postoperative nursing intervention, patients were randomized into control group (CG) and observational group (OG) for evaluating the effects of refined nursing intervention on pain relief, postoperative recovery and respiratory function. ⋯ Moreover, OG expressed higher satisfaction with nursing care compared to CG (P = .002). Patients experienced reduced respiratory function after thoracic surgery. Refined nursing intervention might facilitate patients' postoperative recovery and improve their respiratory function and general well-being, which would be beneficial for achieving patients' satisfaction and promoting positive interaction between patients and multidisciplinary team members.

Application of Sini Decoction at acupoint on gastrointestinal dysfunction in patients with sepsis: A clinical study.
The occurrence of gastrointestinal dysfunction is widely recognized as a prevalent complication in patients with sepsis. To investigate clinical effect of Sini Decoction at acupoint on gastrointestinal dysfunction in sepsis patients. Seventy-five patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction caused by sepsis were randomly divided into 2 groups. ⋯ Bowel sounds were more active and motilin levels were higher in the treatment group. Additionally, the length of ICU stay was significantly shorter in the treatment group than in the control group. Our findings demonstrated that the application of Sini Decoction at acupoints in sepsis patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction can effectively enhance gastrointestinal function, leading to a reduction in ICU stay duration and an improvement in patients' prognosis.

Application of dexmedetomidine combined with propofol-etomidate mixture in radical gastrectomy under general anesthesia.
Gastric cancer is the third most common malignant tumor with the second highest mortality rate in the world, and radical gastrectomy is the main treatment method, but the operation needs a long period of time to carry out and has strong surgical trauma stimulation, which is likely to cause sympathetic nerve excitement and stress reaction in the body. Therefore, the selection of appropriate anesthetic medication regimen and anesthesia method has an important impact on the intraoperative management and postoperative recovery of patients. This study aims to compare the clinical effects of dexmedetomidine alone in combination with propofol, etomidate and propofol-etomidate mixture in the treatment of radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer. ⋯ Dexmedetomidine combined with propofol-etomidate mixture is a better anesthesia drug combination.
