Buyang huanwu decoction (BYHWD) has shown significant clinical efficacy in the treatment of several diseases, particularly stroke. However, bibliometric research has not been comprehensive. ⋯ Both Chinese and English literature have shown overall growth trend since 1984 and 1989, respectively. Clinical applications, pharmacological effects, mechanisms, active ingredients, evaluation of clinical efficacy and safety, modified BYHWD, methods, and biological techniques may be hotspots and focus of future research on BYHWD. Hotspot analytical methods and biological techniques include systematic reviews, meta-analyses, data mining, network pharmacology, and molecular docking. Future valuable research fields may include studies on neuroprotection, anti-inflammatory activity, ischemic stroke, bioactive compounds, and their underlying mechanisms.

The utilization of guidewires for adjusting the intraoperative catheter malposition during the venous access port implantation: A retrospective study.
This study presents an in-depth exploration of various adjustment methods for intraoperative catheter malposition by guidewires in the implantation of totally implantable venous access ports (TIVAP). It not only aims to summarize these methods but also endeavors to identify the most advantageous approach. The patient list was searched using the hospital information system from January 1, 2022, to October 31, 2023. ⋯ The dose of X-ray exposure was only 7.2 ± 9.0 μGym2. Adjustments combined the guidewire with the puncture needle had the shortest SVC selection time and operation time with a minimal radiation dose. intraoperative catheter malposition can be timely and effectively adjusted using guidewires under fluoroscopy during any process of TIVAP implantation. Timely adjustment using a guidewire after inserting into the puncture needle is an optimal choice for a smooth and successful operation.

Gout is an inflammatory arthritis resulting from urate crystal deposition, now recognized as part of metabolic syndrome. Hyperuricemia, a hallmark of gout, is associated with various health complications, including liver cancer. Observational studies indicate a link between gout and increased cancer incidence. ⋯ The results indicate that gout increases the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma, with PEMT potentially playing a key role. Although this study focused on European populations, indicating a need for further research in diverse groups, the results emphasize the potential for liver cancer screening in newly diagnosed gout patients. Understanding the relationship between these conditions may inform future clinical practices and cancer prevention strategies.

The perioperative nursing effect of VSD closed negative pressure drainage in the treatment of emergency traumatic wound infection.
This study aims to explore the perioperative nursing effect of vacuum sealing drainage closed negative pressure drainage in the treatment of emergency traumatic wound infection. A total of 116 patients with trauma-related wound infection were admitted to the Department of orthopedics and skin wound at our hospital from April 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into an observation group and a control group, with 58 patients in each group. ⋯ After treatment, the Bates-Jensen scores in both groups decreased, and the observation group had lower scores than the control group (P < .05). The use of vacuum sealing drainage closure therapy in patients with emergency trauma-related wound infections can alleviate pain, reduce the frequency of dressing changes, accelerate wound healing, and improve wound healing outcomes. It is worthy of clinical promotion.

Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) identified over 100 susceptibility loci and candidate causal genes for diverticular disease (DD) at the transcriptional level. However, effective therapeutics or preventions based on underlying disease mechanisms remain to be elucidated. In this study, we explored potential causal genes for DD at the protein level. ⋯ OR, 0.43; 95% CI, 0.33-0.56; P = 7.0 × 10-10 for FinnGen). Sensitivity analyses supported the causal association. We prioritized plasma CCN3/NOV protein as a protective factor for DD for follow-up functional studies to elucidate the disease mechanisms and therapeutics.
