Review Case Reports
Sigmoid colonic metastasis from a squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix: A rare case report with literature review.
As the third most common cancer in women, cervical cancer usually spreads to adjacent organs. Distant metastasis from the cervix to the gastrointestinal tract is an extremely rare occurrence. ⋯ SCC is one of the rare malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract occurring as either a primary or secondary lesion. However, the secondary SCC of the colon has a poorer prognosis compared with the primary SCC. Therefore, colonic metastasis must be considered in the differential diagnosis of acute intestinal obstruction, especially in patients with the medical history of SCC in other organs.

Meta Analysis
Risk of adverse reactions associated with inhaled corticosteroids for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A meta-analysis.
In the majority of current therapeutic regimens for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchodilators are coupled with inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) to lower the inflammatory response and improve symptoms. This study aims to evaluate the safety of ICS in the treatment of COPD. ⋯ ICS does not increase the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with COPD, but it does increase the risk of URTI, pneumonia, oral Candida infections, and musculoskeletal disorders in patients with COPD.

Perceptions of organizational value and unethical/deviant behaviors among lecturers in Archeology and Religion and Cultural Studies: An intervention study.
Understanding an organization's ethical standards assists employees in abiding by stipulated rules and regulations and reduces the prevalent rate of inappropriate behaviors. Unfortunately, some workers do not know and as a result, they become dysfunctional, affecting their professional identities. Given this, scholars have called for psychoeducational strategies that coach workers to improve their perceptions. With this in mind, we investigated the impact of psychoeducational coaching on workplace ethical perceptions and deviant behaviors among lecturers in Archeology and Religion and Cultural Studies. ⋯ It is concluded in this study that rational-emotive behavior occupational coaching is beneficial and effective in decreasing unethical work values and work-deviant behaviors among lecturers in Archeology and Religion and Cultural Studies. Therefore, REBT practitioners should liaise with lecturers in Archeology and Religion and Cultural Studies to advance the practice of REBT in workplaces.

Hallux valgus (HV) is often accompanied by metatarsalgia. This study compared the radiological and clinical outcomes of new triplanar chevron osteotomy (TCO) and chevron osteotomy (CO) in the treatment of HV, especially for patients with plantar callosities and metatarsalgia. In this retrospective analysis, 90 patients (45 patients per group) with mild to moderate HV and plantar callosities were treated with TCO and CO from July 2020 to January 2022. ⋯ The number of postoperative patients with metatarsalgia and the plantar callosity grade were both significantly lower in the TCO group than in the CO group after osteotomy (P < .05). TCO prevents dorsal shift of the metatarsal head and preserves and even increases FML, thereby preventing future metatarsalgia in patients. Therefore, compared with CO, TCO has better orthopedic outcomes and is an effective method for treating mild to moderate HV and preventing transfer metatarsalgia.

We found the G132R heterozygous mutation of thyroid stimulating hormone receptor (TSHR) gene in a patient with recurrent hypokalemia. Because the patient had a medical history of hyperthyroidism, the mutation was suspected to be related to hyperthyroidism at first. Subsequently, the expression and function studies in vitro were conducted. ⋯ We identified the G132R monoallelic heterozygous mutation of TSHR gene in a patient with hyperthyroidism. Based on disease history of the patient, we speculated that the heterozygous mutation did not cause thyroid dysplasia or hypothyroidism for her. Our study enriched experiment content in vitro studies and clinical phenotype about the G132R mutation in TSHR gene.
