E2F transcription factors (E2Fs) are a family of transcription factors critical regulators of the cell cycle, apoptosis, and differentiation, thus influencing tumorigenesis. However, the specific roles of E2Fs in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remain unclear. Data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were used. ⋯ Compared with paracancerous tissues, E2F7 was up-regulated in LUAD by IHC, and E2F7 might be positively correlated with larger tumors and higher TNM stages. E2F7 may primarily regulate DNA repair, damage, and cell cycle processes and thus affect LUAD tumorigenesis, invasion, and metastasis by LinkedOmics and CancerSEA. E2F7 serves as a potential prognostic biomarker for LUAD.

This study aims to summarize the prognosis and risk factors of nonoperative treatment patients of hip fracture with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). A total of 113 individuals of hip fracture with nonoperative treatment were retrospectively enrolled, 38 patients with ESRD were defined as the observation group, and the other 75 patients without ESRD were served as the control group. The difference in 30-day and 1-year mortality rate between the 2 groups was compared. ⋯ In the subsequent multivariable subgroup analyses, for nonoperative treatment hip fracture subjects with ESRD, high CCI and low BI were also the independent risk factors of mortality. For nonoperative treatment hip fracture subjects, ESRD, old age, low BMI, high CCI and low BI were the independent risk factors of mortality. For hip fracture subjects with ESRD, nonoperative treatment was associated with excess high 1-year mortality rate, especially for patients with high CCI and low BI.

To explore the relationship between specific immunoglobulin E levels in response to prevalent pollen and food allergens among patients suffering from localized allergic diseases in the Dongying area of China, and to analyze the interconnectivity among these factors. ⋯ This research sheds light on the patterns of allergen sensitization in Dongying, Shandong, highlighting that egg is the most prevalent sensitizing allergen. A notably high correlation was observed between Birch Tree and Cottonwood. This study enhanced the understanding of allergic diseases, explored the causes and mechanisms of allergies, strengthened the management of allergic diseases. Furthermore, it offers valuable insights for the clinical diagnosis and prevention of allergic diseases.

Autophagy is essential for the homeostasis and function of the cardiovascular system. Citespace is a visual analysis software developed in the context of scientometrics and data visualization. The purpose of this study is to use Citespace software to conduct bibliometric and visual analysis of the research on autophagy in cardiovascular diseases, identify the current status, hot spots and trends in this field, help researchers clarify the future research focus and direction of autophagy in cardiovascular diseases, and provide more positive and broader ideas for the treatment and drug development of cardiovascular diseases. ⋯ Bibliometric analysis provided valuable information for autophagy research in cardiovascular disease, which is full of opportunities and challenges. The research of autophagy in the field of cardiovascular diseases is still worthy of in-depth exploration. A challenge with autophagy-targeted therapies is their dichotomy in which the goal is to target maladaptive autophagy while maintaining a baseline level of cell survival to optimize a beneficial outcome. It is necessary for scientists to develop new methods to evaluate the level of autophagy from basic application to human body and reveal the signaling mechanism of autophagy in different types of cardiovascular diseases.

Review Case Reports
Granulomatosis with polyangiitis presenting headache: A case report and review of literature.
Central nervous system involvement is a rare manifestation of active-phaselocalized Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA). In hypertrophic dura meningitis, GPA with headache is typical. In this case, cerebral magnetic resonance (MR) enhancement revealed no meningeal thickening, to our knowledge, this manifestation had not been found previously. ⋯ GPA and severe headache are more prevalent in hypertrophic dura meningitis, but the patient early headache could not be explained by hypertrophic dura meningitis or localized granulomatous lesions that invaded the central nervous system. Patients with severe headaches likely have vascular inflammation and local bone destruction at the base of the skull.
