Review Meta Analysis
A literature review of a meta-analysis of BRAF mutations in non-small cell lung cancer.
The research on the relationship between the Braf Proto-oncogene (BRAF) mutation and lung cancer has generated conflicting findings. Nevertheless, there is an argument suggesting that assessing the BRAF status could offer benefits in terms of managing and prognosing individuals with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). To present a comprehensive overview of this subject, we undertook an up-to-date meta-analysis of pertinent publications. ⋯ Our meta-analysis revealed a significant correlation between BRAF mutations and NSCLC. Moreover, we observed a higher incidence of BRAF lung mutations in females compared to males. Additionally, the BRAFV600E mutation was found to be more prevalent among female patients and nonsmokers.

To evaluate the efficacy and safety of dorzagliatin for the treatment of type 2 diabetes (T2DM). ⋯ Dorzagliatin exerted favorable effects in hypoglycemic control, effectively reduced the HbA1c, FBG, and 2h postprandial blood glucose levels in T2DM patients, stimulated the secretion of insulin during the initial phase, and exerted a consistent hypoglycemic effect. However, the incidence of adverse events such as elevated blood lipids and cardiovascular risk warrants further investigations through long-term clinical trials.

Interleukin gene polymorphisms and alopecia areata: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune disease which results in non-scarring hair loss on the scalp or any surface with hair. Several genetic polymorphisms of the interleukin genes have been linked with this disease but the results are inconsistent. This systematic review and meta-analysis were done to find the association between rs3118470, rs2275913, rs3212227, and rs10889677 of the IL2RA, IL17A, IL12B, and IL23R genes, respectively, of the interleukin family with alopecia areata. ⋯ Our analysis showed that mutation of rs3118470 of IL2RA gene possesses a significant risk effect for alopecia areata. Future studies with larger sample sizes and ethnic backgrounds are warranted to confirm our findings.

A high incidence of anatomical variations in the origin of the branches of the aortic arch has been reported, Nowadays, this variation is considered the most frequent in the aortic arch, its prevalence being estimated between 0.5% and 2.5% of the population. To understand its origin, knowledge of embryonic development is necessary. ⋯ ARSA can cause several types of alterations in the cervical or thoracic region, resulting in various clinical complications, such as lusory dysphagia. Hence, knowing this variant is extremely important for surgeons, especially those who treat the cervico-thoracic region. The low prevalence of ARSA means that many professionals are completely unaware of its existence and possible course and origin. Therefore, this study provides detailed knowledge of ARSA so that professionals can make better diagnoses and treatment of ARSA.

In China, Salvia miltiorrhiza and ligustrazine (SML) injection are widely used as adjunctive therapy for patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD). However, different studies have reported conflicting results. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis are necessary to assess the efficacy and safety of SML injection for the treatment of DKD. ⋯ In patients with DKD, combining SML injection with ACEI/ARB improves renal function, renal proteinuria, hyperglycemia, blood pressure, dyslipidemia, and inflammatory response.
