Cancer incidence is increasingly seen in younger individuals. Molecular distinctions between young and elderly patients at onset are understudied. This study used public databases to explore genomic, transcriptomic, and immune-related features across age groups in cervical cancer. ⋯ Our study reveals distinct patterns in cancer-driving mechanisms, biological processes, and immune system status between young and elderly patients at onset with cervical cancer. These findings shed light on the age-specific underlying mechanisms of carcinogenesis. Furthermore, an independent molecular prognostic model is constructed to provide valuable references for patient stratification and the development of potential drug targets.

Stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) is one of the subtype of gastric cancer with high invasiveness, extreme heterogeneity, high morbidity, and high mortality. The degradome is the most abundant class of cellular enzymes that play an essential role in regulating cellular activity and carcinogenesis. An integrative machine learning procedure including 10 methods was performed to develop a prognostic degradome-based prognostic signature (DPS) in TCGA, GSE15459, GSE26253, and GSE62254 datasets. ⋯ STAD patients with a high DPS score had a lower IC50 value of common chemotherapy and targeted therapy regimens (Cisplatin, Docetaxel, Gefitinib, etc). Our study developed an optimal DPS for STAD. The DPS could predict the prognosis, risk stratification and guide treatment for STAD patients.

To describe the epidemiology of congenital malformations of the external ear (CMEE). Data were obtained from the Birth Defects Surveillance System in Hunan Province, China, 2016 to 2020. The prevalence of CMEEs is defined as the number of cases per 1000 fetuses (births and deaths at 28 weeks of gestation and beyond) (unit: ‰). ⋯ In summary, we have presented the epidemiology of CMEEs in Hunan Province, China. CMEEs were more common in males than females, in urban areas than rural areas, whereas there was no significant difference in prevalence of CMEEs by maternal age. We inferred that CMEEs may be mainly related to genetics, and the mechanism needs to be examined in the future.

The imbalance between the generation and elimination of reactive oxygen species (ROS) is defined as oxidative stress (OS). Elevated levels of OS are implicated in various diseases, especially in gynecological and reproductive disorders. The abundance of recent literature makes it challenging to assimilate all available information. This bibliometric analysis seeks to depict the research landscape of OS in gynecological and reproductive diseases and to identify future hotspots and trends. ⋯ There was an uptrend in the number of articles addressing OS in gynecological and reproductive diseases. However, international collaboration and exchange were limited. The topic of male infertility had remained a consistent area of interest, and research on oocyte quality is poised to become a potential focal point in the future.

Breast cancer is a common malignancy with the highest mortality rate among women worldwide. Its incidence is on the rise year after year, accounting for more than one-tenth of new cancers worldwide. Increasing evidence suggests that forkhead box (FOX) transcription factors play an important role in the occurrence and development of breast cancer. ⋯ In patients with breast cancer, FOXC2 expression was negatively correlated with the infiltration of B cells and positively correlated with the infiltration of neutrophils and dendritic cells. However, FOXM1 was negatively correlated with the infiltration of CD8 + T cells and macrophages and positively correlated with the infiltration of neutrophils and dendritic cells. These findings provided novel insights into the screening of prognostic biomarkers of the FOX family in breast cancer and laid a foundation for further research on the immune infiltration of the FOX transcription factor family members in tumors.
