Combination of Fushengong decoction with Western medicine on patients with chronic renal failure: An observational study.
Chronic renal failure (CRF) causes a reduction in glomerular filtration rate and damage to renal parenchyma. Fushengong decoction (FSGD) showed improvement in renal function in CRF rats. This study aims to analyze the differentially expressed proteins in CRF patients treated with Western medicine alone or in combination with FSGD. ⋯ These proteins are involved in the blood coagulation system, protein serine/threonine kinase activity, and TGF-β, which are closely related to the pathogenesis of CRF. Protein-protein-interaction network analysis indicated that candidate proteins fibronectin 1, fibrinogen alpha chain, vitronectin, and Serpin Family C Member 1 were in the key nodes. This study provided an experimental basis suggesting that FSGD combined with Western medicine could significantly improve renal function and renal fibrosis of CRF patients, which may be through the regulation of fibronectin 1, fibrinogen alpha chain, vitronectin, Serpin Family C Member 1, TGF-β, and the complement coagulation pathway (see Graphical abstract S1, Supplemental Digital Content, http://links.lww.com/MD/L947).

"Internet Plus" continuous nursing for patients with advanced bladder cancer: A retrospective observational study.
The "Internet Plus" system has made continuous nursing intervention much more feasible to implement, especially in terms of malignant tumors. We aimed to evaluate continuous nursing based on "Internet Plus" for patients diagnosed with bladder cancer with hematuria being treated by drug-eluting bead embolization. This retrospective study included 43 patients, diagnosed with bladder cancer with hemorrhages, who had undergone transcatheter bladder arterial chemoembolization by drug-eluting bead embolization at our hospital between January 2017 and January 2023. ⋯ The disease knowledge was higher in the observation group, and the caregiver burden scores of the observation group were significantly lower. The patient satisfaction scores of the control group (84.7 ± 2.6) were lower than those of the observation group (90.5 ± 5.4). Continuous nursing based on "Internet Plus" could improve the quality of life of patients and their satisfaction regarding the meeting of their and their families' psychological and nursing needs.

Meta Analysis
Efficacy of acupoint injection of metoclopramide for post-chemotherapy vomiting: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Vomiting is one of the most common adverse events of chemotherapy. The purpose of this study was to systematically review the clinical efficacy of acupoint injection of metoclopramide in the treatment of post-chemotherapy vomiting. ⋯ Acupoint injection of metoclopramide for post-chemotherapy vomiting is more effective than intramuscular and intravenous injections and is not limited by dose or duration of treatment, which may be the preferred way of administration.

People with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) are vulnerable group to experience mood disorders. It is crucial to identify factors that contribute to depression and anxiety in order to improve outcomes. This study seeks to determine the rates of depression and anxiety in Syrian AS patients, as well as identify potential predictors for these conditions. ⋯ This study demonstrated high levels of that depressive and anxiety symptoms among Syrian patients with AS undergoing biological treatment. Poor quality of life, severe fatigue, and high-frequency sleep disturbances are major predictive factors for depressive and anxiety symptoms. Screening for depression and anxiety holds significant importance in the comprehensive management of ankylosing spondylitis even in the context of concurrent biological treatment administration.

Chronic hepatitis B virus infection (HBV) infection appears to be associated with extrahepatic cancers. This study aims to evaluate the causality and evolutionary mechanism of chronic HBV infection and gastric cancer through Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis and bioinformatics analysis. We conducted 2-sample MR to investigate the causal relationship between chronic HBV infection and gastric cancer. ⋯ Two hub genes, CXCL9 and COL6A2, were identified, and a high-performing predictive model was constructed. Chronic HBV infection is positively associated with gastric cancer, and the evolutionary mechanism may be related to Toll-like receptor signaling. Prospective studies are still needed to confirm these findings.
