Perioperative blood transfusion (PBT) has been associated with worse prognosis in several malignancies. For renal cell carcinoma (RCC), the effect of PBT is still debated. ⋯ PBT is associated with higher OM, CSM and disease recurrence. This adverse effect seems to be particularly significant in high-dose intraoperative transfusion. It is necessary to limit the overuse of PBT, especially high-dose intraoperative transfusion, in order to improve the prognosis of patients undergoing nephrectomy for RCC.

Interleukin 6 (IL-6), a pleiotropic cytokine, is crucial in a variety of inflammatory and immunological disorders. In recent years, mendelian randomization, which is a widely used and successful method of analyzing causality, has recently been investigated for the relationship between the IL-6 pathway and related diseases. However, no studies have been conducted to review the research hotspots and trends in the field of IL-6 signaling pathway in Mendelian randomization. ⋯ Frontiers in Immunology is the most prolific journal, and Golam M Khandaker has published the highest number of significant articles. The most co-cited article was an article entitled the interleukin-6 receptor as a target for prevention of coronary-heart-disease: a Mendelian randomization analysis, written by Daniel I Swerdlow. The most popular keywords were "mendelian randomization," "interleukin-6," "il-6," "c-reactive protein," "association," "coronary-heart-disease," "inflammation," "instruments," "risk," "rheumatoid arthritis," "depression." The full extent of the existing literature over the last 10 years is systematically revealed in this study, which can provide readers with a valuable reference for fully comprehending the research hotspots and trends in the field of IL-6 signaling pathway in Mendelian randomization.

Ruxolitinib associated psoas muscle tuberculosis abscess in a primary myelofibrosis woman: A case report and literature review.
Primary myelofibrosis is a subtype of myeloproliferative neoplasm that leads to bone marrow fibrosis. Historically, the only curative option for primary myelofibrosis was allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant. Ruxolitinib, a Janus kinase inhibitor, is now used for the treatment of primary myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera. It effectively improves symptoms related to splenomegaly and anemia. However, its association with the development of opportunistic infections has been observed in clinical studies and practical application. ⋯ This case underscores the importance of clinicians evaluating latent infections and ensuring full vaccination prior to initiating ruxolitinib-related treatment for primary myelofibrosis.

Megalosplenia as an initial manifestation of multiple myeloma with a novel CYLD gene mutation: A case report and literature review.
Megalosplenia in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM) is extremely rare, posing diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to its unusual location and clinical manifestations and lack of optimal therapeutic strategies. ⋯ To our knowledge, only 8 cases of spleen plasmacytoma at MM diagnosis have been described previously. Extramedullary myeloma patients with spleen involvement at diagnosis are younger and that the condition is usually accompanied by splenic rupture with aggressive clinical features and poor prognosis. Further studies are needed to explore pathogenesis and effective therapies to prolong the survival of such patients.

ShenGui capsule (SGC), as a herbal compound, has significant effects on the treatment of heart failure (HF), but its mechanism of action is unclear. In this study, we aimed to explore the potential pharmacological targets and mechanisms of SGC in the treatment of HF using network pharmacology and molecular docking approaches. Potential active ingredients of SGC were obtained from the traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology database and analysis platform database and screened by pharmacokinetic parameters. ⋯ Molecular docking results showed that IL-1β binds tightly to SGC active components. This experiment provides an important research basis for the mechanism of action of SGC in the treatment of HF. In this study, the active compounds of SGC were found to bind IL-1β for the treatment of heart failure.
