To determine the distal resection margin in sphincter-sparing surgery in patients with low rectal cancer based on imaging of large pathological sections. ⋯ In the vast majority of cases, the distal resection margin was at least 1 cm; thus, "No Evidence of Disease" could have been achieved. Additional high-powered randomized trials are needed to confirm the results of the present study.

Meta Analysis
A meta-analysis of recombinant human endostatin combined with NP regimen for treating non-small cell lung cancer.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of recombinant human endostatin in combination with vinorelbine + cisplatin (NPE) for the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). ⋯ Compared with NP (vinorelbine + cisplatin) regimens for patients with advanced NSCLC, NPE regimens improve the total effective rate and clinical benefit rate of treatment, but there can be no significant difference in adverse effects. Prospective randomized trials are needed to further validate the safety and efficacy of this treatment modality.

Deaths from COVID-19 are concentrated in older adults, and studies have reported that physical activity (PA) can reduce the risk of death from pneumonia. ⋯ This meta-analysis showed that PA was associated with a reduced risk of dying from pneumonia in middle-aged and older adults, and that there was a significant nonlinear negative dose-response relationship between PA levels and the risk of dying from pneumonia. Therefore, moderate exercise was recommended.

Review
Therapeutic options for different metastatic sites arising from renal cell carcinoma: A review.
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stands among the top 10 malignant neoplasms with the highest fatality rates. It exhibits pronounced heterogeneity and robust metastatic behavior. Patients with RCC may present with solitary or multiple metastatic lesions at various anatomical sites, and their prognoses are contingent upon the site of metastasis. ⋯ Recognizing the nuanced differences in RCC metastasis to distinct organs proves advantageous in contemplating potential treatment modalities aimed at optimizing survival outcomes. Moreover, discerning the metastatic site holds promise for enhancing risk stratification in individuals with metastatic RCC. This review summarizes the recent data pertaining to the current status of different RCC metastatic sites and elucidates their role in informing clinical management strategies across diverse metastatic locales of RCC.

Multicenter Study Observational Study
Impact of hyponatremia in patients hospitalized in Internal Medicine units: Hyponatremia in Internal Medicine units.
The aim of this study was to analyze the impact and the clinical and evolutionary characteristics of hypotonic hyponatremia in patients hospitalized in Internal Medicine units. Prospective multicenter observational study of patients with hypotonic hyponatremia (<135 mmol/L) in 5 hospitals in southern Spain. Patients were included according to point prevalence studies carried out every 2 weeks between March 2015 and October 2017, by assessing demographic, clinical, analytical, and management data; each patient was subsequently followed up for 12 months, during which time mortality and readmissions were assessed. ⋯ Mortality at 1 year and readmissions were high (31% and 53% of patients, respectively). Hyponatremia was common in Internal Medicine areas, with hypervolemic hyponatremia being the most frequent type. The mortality rate was high during admission and at follow-up; yet there is a margin for improvement in the clinical management of this condition.
