To explore the potential mechanism in Cuscuta sinensis on diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome using network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques. First, the active components and related targets of Cuscuta were found setting oral utilization >30% and drug-like properties greater than or equal to 0.18 as filter information from TCMSP database. The targets of diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome were compiled by searching DrugBank, GeneCards, OMIM, PharmGkb, and TTD databases. ⋯ The target information of Cuscuta and diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome was compiled, which can be resulted in 11 active compounds such as quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin, β-sitosterol, and another 17 core targets such as TP53, IL6, AKT1, IL1B, TNF, EGFR, etc, whose Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes was enriched in the pathways of lipids and atherosclerosis, chemical carcinogenesis-receptor activation, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, and fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis, etc. Docking demonstrated that the core targets and the active compounds were able to be better combined. Cuscuta chinensis may exert preventive effects on diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome by reducing intestinal inflammation, protecting intestinal mucosa, and playing an important role in antioxidant response through multi-targets and multi-pathways.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) prognosis may be deteriorated due to the metastases, and anoikis palys an essential role in the tumor metastasis. However, the potential effect of anoikis-related genes on the prognosis of PTC was unclear. The mRNA and clinical information were obtained from the cancer genome atlas database. ⋯ Drug sensitivity analysis suggested that cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 2A may be a better chemotherapy target. We constructed a risk model which could effectively and steadily predict the prognosis of PTC. We inferred that the immune escape may be involved in the development of PTC.

The efficacy of surgical intervention for perianal infection in patients with hematologic malignancies is not well established. Therefore, our study aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy and complications of surgical treatment of perianal infection in patients with hematologic malignancies. This retrospective study included patients with hematological malignancies who were diagnosed with perianal infections and treated at the China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation 731 Hospital between 2018 and 2022. ⋯ Surgical intervention may improve the prognosis of patients with perianal abscess formation, particularly in patients who show no improvement with medical therapy and those who develop perianal sepsis. Granulocytopenia and thrombocytopenia should be improved before surgery, which can significantly reduce postoperative complications. Although these findings are from a case series without a comparator, they may be of value to physicians because to the best of our knowledge, no randomized or prospective studies have been conducted on the management of perianal infections in patients with hematological malignancies.

Epidemiological and clinical studies have indicated a higher risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), implying a potentially shared genetic etiology, which is still less explored. Genetic links between T2DM and NAFLD were assessed using linkage disequilibrium score regression and pleiotropic analysis under composite null hypothesis. European GWAS data have identified shared genes, whereas SNP-level pleiotropic analysis under composite null hypothesis has explored pleiotropic loci. generalized gene-set analysis of GWAS data determines pleiotropic pathways and tissue enrichment using eQTL mapping to identify associated genes. ⋯ These genes were mainly enriched in pancreas, brain, and liver tissues. The Mendelian randomization method indicated a significantly positive unidirectional causal relationship between T2DM and NAFLD. Our study identified a shared genetic structure between NAFLD and T2DM, providing new insights into the genetic pathogenesis and mechanisms of NAFLD and T2DM comorbidities.

Monitoring of antimicrobial resistance in respiratory tract pathogens during the COVID-19 pandemic: A retrospective study.
To understand the distribution and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of pathogens in respiratory samples in Changle District People's Hospital in Fujian Province in recent years, and provide empirical guidance for infection control and clinical treatment in the region. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 5137 isolates of pathogens from respiratory samples collected from 2019 to 2022. The AMR patterns were systematically analyzed. ⋯ K pneumoniae, P aeruginosa, A baumannii, and S aureus are the main pathogens in respiratory samples. Although the resistance rates of some multidrug-resistant strains have decreased, ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae, carbapenem-resistant bacteria have still increased. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of pathogen resistance, promote rational use of antibiotics, and promptly report findings.
