The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness and feasibility of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in older gastric cancer (GC) patients by observing the changes in postoperative intestinal function recovery, nutritional indicators, and inflammatory markers following the surgery. ⋯ The application of the ERAS program in older GC patients is effective and feasible, and significantly contributes to faster postoperative recovery in older patients.

This study aims to systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions associated with Jintiange capsule (JTG capsule)-assisted percutaneous vertebral augmentation (PVA) in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). ⋯ JTG capsule has demonstrated promising outcomes in alleviating the pain experienced by OVCF patients following PVP. Additionally, it has shown efficacy in enhancing postoperative lumbar and back function. Furthermore, JTG capsule has been associated with improvements in postoperative vertebral BMD and serum bone-γ-carboxyglutamic acid-containing protein levels. These findings suggest that JTG capsule could potentially serve as a viable adjunctive treatment option for managing osteoporosis following PVA.

Efficacy of hydrodistension for frozen shoulder: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The aim of this study was to provide comprehensive and reliable evidence for the treatment of pain and motor function in patients with frozen shoulder (FS) with hydrodistension. ⋯ The result suggests that hydrodistension is of great clinical significance in alleviating pain and improving function to patients with FS.

Adjuvant therapy in renal cell carcinoma: Tyrosine kinase inhibitor versus immune checkpoint inhibitor.
To date, no meta-analysis has been conducted to compare the effectiveness and safety of adjuvant tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and adjuvant immunotherapies (IMTs) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients using reconstructed individual patient data (IPD). This study aims to fill that gap by assessing the efficacy and safety profiles of these treatments in such patients. ⋯ This paper presents a thorough analysis of DFS, OS, and treatment-related AEs across various groups in RCC patients, offering a valuable resource for clinicians in everyday practice. Our findings indicate that while adjuvant IMTs and adjuvant TKIs demonstrate similar DFS, IMTs are notably superior in terms of safety and compliance.

Gut microbiota metabolites and risk of major adverse cardiovascular events and death: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Gut microbial metabolites such as trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) and its precursors, namely betaine, L-carnitine, and choline, have been implicated as risk factors for cardiovascular events and mortality development. Therefore, we aim to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the validity of these associations. ⋯ Elevated concentrations of TMAO were associated with increased risks of MACE and all-cause mortality. High levels of L-carnitine/choline were also significantly associated with an increased risk of MACE. However, no significant difference was found between high or low levels of betaine for the outcome of MACE.
