Hypertension has long been a worldwide health concern. Our aim was to investigate the prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control rates of hypertension and analyze the factors related to hypertension among adult residents of the coastal areas of Tianjin, China. This was a cross-sectional study. ⋯ Additionally, the awareness, treatment, control, and control under-treatment rates of hypertension were 89.7%, 83.6%, 54.4%, and 60.5%, respectively. Factors associated with having controlled hypertension included sex, body mass index, and dyslipidemia (all P < .01). Our study identified that in the coastal area of Tianjin, China, about half have hypertension, also the region has high rates of hypertension awareness, treatment and control, and more than half of hypertension patients receiving treatment have controlled hypertension.

Prevalence of sarcopenia and association with HIV infection in China elderly: An observational study.
This article aims to analyze the prevalence of sarcopenia among the elderly in Guizhou Province, China, and its association with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. This cross-sectional study included 377 patients aged 60 and above in Guiyang Public Health Treatment Center from December 2022 to October 2023, including 231 patients in the community clinic and 146 HIV-infected individuals. According to the Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia 2019 Consensus to diagnose sarcopenia. ⋯ The prevalence of sarcopenia in the elderly population in China was severe. HIV infection was a risk factor for sarcopenia. It is urgent to establish a prevention and treatment system for sarcopenia in the elderly population, especially for elderly HIV-infected male.

Optimal number of images and 2-year interval affect cancer detection in screening esophagogastroduodenoscopy: An observational study.
We aimed to identify quality indicator for esophagogastroduodenoscopy for detecting upper gastrointestinal (UGI) cancer. Data from 43,526 consecutive health checkups from August 2012 to January 2022 were retrospectively collected. The study ultimately analyzed 42,387 examinations by 12 endoscopists who performed more than 1000 examinations, including all cancers detected. ⋯ There was also a negative correlation trend between the detection rate of pharyngeal and esophageal cancers and the number of esophageal images < 11 (OR: 0.395, 95% CI: 0.156-1.001, P = .050). The optimal number of images and screening 2-year interval are considered useful quality indicators for detecting UGI cancer. This study also suggests that a total of 50 images, or 35 images of the stomach are suitable for detecting UGI cancer, or gastric cancer, during screening endoscopy.

Raftlin - a potential biomarker for axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis: An observational study.
Our aim is to evaluate serum Raftlin levels as a biomarker for diagnosing and monitoring disease activity in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and Psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This trial included 40 axSpA patients, 40 PsA patients, and 40 healthy participants as the control group. Disease activity was assessed with Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score for axSpA patients and The Disease Activity Index for Psoriatic Arthritis for PsA patients. ⋯ Our results demonstrate that although serum Raftlin levels are elevated in axSpA patients, Raftlin cannot be used as an alone diagnostic marker for axSpA. Furthermore, it was not found to be related to the monitoring of disease activity, the level of pain, disability, or severity of enthesitis. This study is prospectively registered at www.clinicaltrials.gov (ID: NCT05771389).

This study aims to critically reassess existing systematic reviews (SR) on Traditional Chinese Exercises (TCE) for treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The primary objectives include synthesizing available evidence, evaluating the methodological quality of reviews and overall evidence, and providing comprehensive insights into the effectiveness of different TCE types in managing COPD. Sinomed, CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science were searched from inception to April 2023 for SR literature on the treatment of COPD with TCE. ⋯ Different types of TCE have varying effects on outcomes in COPD patients. However, these findings are limited by the generally low methodological and evidence quality of the included SRs. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to improve study designs to obtain higher-quality clinical evidence and to strictly follow SR protocols.
