Spontaneously ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma (srHCC) is a life-threatening disease. The prognosis of patients with srHCC after hepatectomy remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the prognosis and recurrence after hepatectomy in patients with srHCC. ⋯ In the unruptured group, 34 (45%) patients experienced recurrence, and the median RFS and OS periods were 20 (8-37, P = .099) and 33 (12-51, P = .394) months, respectively. Patients who developed peritoneal metastases were included in the ruptured group (n = 3). Ruptured HCCs exhibit worse oncological outcomes have poorer survival and higher recurrence rates than unruptured HCCs.

Observational Study
Intraoperative assessment of the dorso-ulnar fragment stability with stress fluoroscopy: An observational study.
This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of intraoperative stress radiographs in evaluating the stability and fixation adequacy of the dorso-ulnar fragment (DUF) after volar plate application. Sixty-four patients who underwent open reduction and internal fixation due to comminuted distal radius fracture accompanied by DUF between May 2020 and February 2022 were reviewed retrospectively. Two groups were compared, with and without stress radiographs used in addition to routine fluoroscopic imaging during the surgical treatment of distal radius fractures. ⋯ No significant difference was observed between the implant removal rates of both groups. Evaluation of the stability of the DUF with stress radiographs after fixation is an effective method to reveal the need for additional fixation. Dorsal stress radiographs allow dynamic evaluation of fixation strength.

Case Reports
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy with pulmonary nocardiosis: A case report.
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) is an immune-mediated motor sensory peripheral neuropathy that is rare in clinical practice. This treatment method aims to suppress potential immunopathology. Nocardiosis is a rare, destructive, opportunistic disease. We report a case of failed treatment of CIDP combined with pulmonary nocardiosis, and for the first time, we link these 2 diseases together. ⋯ For patients with CIDP receiving immunosuppressive therapy, attention should be paid to the occurrence and severity of Nocardia infection. Therefore, early detection and treatment are necessary. We need to pay attention to the compliance of patients with prophylactic use of antibiotics, strengthen the follow-up, and urge them to return to their appointments on time.

To explore the effects of focused solution nursing combined with cognitive intervention combined with functional training on negative emotions, compliance and quality of life in elderly patients with sudden deafness. A total of 160 patients with sudden deafness in the elderly who were treated in our hospital from January 2019 to May 2021 were selected as the objects of this retrospective study. Based on different treatment approaches, subjects were divided into a control group and an observation group. ⋯ The mental vitality score, social interaction score, emotional restriction score, and mental status of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group. The observation group's psychological compliance, activity compliance, dietary compliance, and treatment protocol compliance were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < .05). Adopting the focused solution model of nursing care can provide a better nursing recovery for elderly patients with sudden deafness, significantly improve the patient quality of life and anxiety and depression, improve patient compliance with treatment, and provide a certain reference for the nursing of elderly patients with sudden deafness.

To investigate the efficacy of 3 root canal sealants such as AH Plus, GuttaFlow and iRoot SP combined with warm gutta-percha vertical compression technique in the treatment of dental pulp disease. This was a single-center retrospective study. 180 patients with dental pulp disease were divided into AH Plus group (n = 60), GuttaFlow group (n = 60) and iRoot SP group (n = 60) according to the different treatment methods. Patients in different groups were treated with corresponding root canal sealant combined with warm gutta-percha vertical compression technique. ⋯ The time-point effect, intergroup effect and time-groups effect of serum TNF-α and IL-6 were significantly different (P < .001), and the levels of the 3 groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (P < .05), and the levels were significantly lower in the GuttaFlow group and the iRoot SP group (P < .05). There were significant differences in efficacy grading and effective rate among the 3 groups (P = .028), and the effective rate of iRoot SP group was significantly higher than that of AH Plus group (P < .05). The iRoot SP or GuttaFlow as root canal sealant combined with warm gutta-percha vertical compression technique in the treatment of dental pulp disease is better than AH Plus, and the former one can shorten the filling time, relieve the postoperative pain and improve the inflammatory response, but the long-term apical sealing effect of iRoot SP is better than GuttaFlow.
