ChatGPT is perceived as a potential tool for patients diagnosed with herniated lumbar disc (HLD) to ask questions concerning desired information, with provision for necessary responses. In this preliminary study, we assessed the validity, safety, and utility of ChatGPT in patients with HLD. Two physicians specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders discussed and determined the 12 most frequently asked questions by patients with HLD in clinical practice. ⋯ Regarding utility, ChatGPT responses exhibited 4 points for 9 questions (9/12, 75.0%) and 3 points for 3 questions (3/12, 25.0%). ChatGPT demonstrates a tendency to offer relatively valid, safe, and useful information regarding HLD. However, users should exercise caution as ChatGPT may occasionally provide incomplete answers to some questions on HLD.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between fat mass (FM), body fat percentage (BF%), lean body mass (LM), and prostate cancer (PCa), and evaluate their potential impact on the risk of PCa. Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) of the United States were utilized. Adult male participants from 6 survey cycles between 1999 and 2010 were selected as the study sample. ⋯ The findings of this study demonstrate a correlation between BF% and LM with PCa, but do not provide direct evidence of a causal relationship. Higher BF% levels are associated with an increased risk of PCa, while higher LM levels are associated with a decreased risk. These results provide valuable insights for understanding and potentially preventing PCa, although further research is needed to fully comprehend the underlying mechanisms.

Comparing the efficacy of traditional Chinese exercises and general aerobic exercises in university students with sleep disorders: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The objective of this study was to compare the impact of traditional Chinese exercise (TCEs) and general aerobic exercise (GAEs) on the sleep quality of university students and to determine which exercise is more effective in improving sleep quality in this specific population. ⋯ GAEs is more effective than TCEs in improving the sleep quality of university students. An optimal aerobic exercise regimen for enhancing sleep quality among university students involves engaging in sessions lasting 40~60 minutes, 3~5 times per week, over a duration of 4 weeks.

Efficacy and safety of interspinous process device compared with alone decompression for lumbar spinal stenosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ Although IPD had lower back pain score and lower dural tears compared with traditional decompression, current evidence indicated no superiority for patient-reported outcomes for IPD compared with alone decompression treatment. However, these findings needed to be verified in further by multicenter, double-blind and large sample RCTs.

Risk factors for deep vein thrombosis after traumatic lower extremity fracture: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The study aimed to predict the risk factors of deep vein thrombosis of lower extremity after traumatic fracture of lower extremity, so as to apply effective strategies to prevent deep vein thrombosis of lower extremity, improve survival rate, and reduce medical cost. ⋯ The study confirmed that the history of deep vein thrombosis, age (60 + years), previous history of VTE, obesity, prolonged bed rest, and heart failure are all associated with an increased risk of VTE. By identifying these significant risk factors, we can more intensively treat patients at relatively high risk of VTE, thereby reducing the incidence of VTE. However, the limitation of the study is that the sample may not be diversified enough, and it fails to cover all potential risk factors, which may affect the universal applicability of the results. Future research should include a wider population and consider more variables in order to obtain a more comprehensive risk assessment.
