The treatment of isolated ipsilateral supraclavicular lymph node metastasis for locally advanced breast cancer has always been a controversial issue for breast surgeons. However, with the further understanding of the metastasis and treatment of breast cancer, it is now considered to be a locally advanced disease, and there is a new debate on the treatment of isolated ipsilateral supraclavicular lymph node metastasis. The author reviewed the relevant literature and briefly discussed the clinical significance of supraclavicular lymph node resection in patients with locally advanced breast cancer presenting with isolated ipsilateral supraclavicular lymph node metastasis.

Pulmonary adverse reaction caused by furazolidone: Two case reports and a literature review.
As one of the drugs used to treat Helicobacter pylori, furazolidone has been reported to cause gastrointestinal reactions, allergies, dizziness, and more. However, its related drug-induced lung injury has been rarely reported. Furthermore, there have been no reports of the timing for initiating hormone therapy when a pulmonary adverse reaction occurs. ⋯ This report suggests that furazolidone may cause pulmonary adverse reactions to raise clinical awareness, and for the first time indicates that hormone therapy is needed for patients whose eosinophils continue to increase after discontinuation.

Long-term clinical efficacy of drug-coated balloon angioplasty for TASCII C/D femoropopliteal lesions in older patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia: A retrospective study.
This study aimed to evaluate the long-term clinical outcomes of drug-coated drug (DCB) angioplasty for long femoropopliteal lesions in older patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI). In this multi-center retrospective study, we enrolled 119 patients with CLTI due to Trans-Atlantic Inter-Society Consensus (TASCII) C/D femoropopliteal lesions who underwent DCB angioplasty. A total of 119 patients with 122 limbs (TASCII C = 67, 54.9%; TASCII D = 55, 45.1%) were enrolled. ⋯ At 2 months, the ulcer healing rate was 96.3% (26/27). At 36 months, the limb salvage and survival rates were 85.8% and 83.3%, respectively. DCB angioplasty were safe and effective for older patients with CLTI attributable to femoropopliteal TASCII C/D lesions.

Nontargeted metabolomic profiling analysis of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus undergoing corn silk treatment.
To explore the corn silk's effect and possible mechanism on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by untargeted metabolomics. Newly diagnosed patients with T2DM admitted to the endocrinology department of the author's hospital from March 2020 to September 2021 were chosen and then allocated to either the intervention or the control group (NC) randomly. Patients in the intervention group were administered corn silk in the same way as the patients in the NC were given a placebo. ⋯ A total of 73 differential metabolites were screened under the conditions of variable important in projection value >1.0 and P < .05. Differential metabolites are mainly enriched in signaling pathways such as oxidative phosphorylation, purine metabolism, and endocrine resistance. Through untargeted metabolomic analysis, it is found that corn silk water extract may reduce blood glucose in patients with T2DM through multiple pathways, including oxidative phosphorylation and purine metabolism.

Lifebuoy cataract is a rare congenital condition characterized by lens thinning. Due to its rarity, detailed treatment reports and standardized surgical approaches are limited. This study aims to enhance the current body of knowledge by presenting comprehensive case reports and describing surgical techniques for the treatment of lifebuoy cataracts. ⋯ This case report demonstrates a successful surgical approach for a lifebuoy cataract, highlighting its unique morphology and the need for careful, specialized techniques. These findings aim to guide ophthalmologists in managing this rare condition, potentially improving patient care.
