Observational Study
Fibromyalgia symptoms before and after septoplasty: A cross-sectional study.
This study aimed to investigate the impact of septoplasty on fibromyalgia symptoms in patients with septum deviation. Patients who were over 18 years of age, had been diagnosed with nasal septum deviation, and indicated for septoplasty were selected consecutively and included in the study. Patients were evaluated twice, at baseline and after septoplasty at 3 months. ⋯ Nine (25.9%) patients had fibromyalgia at the beginning, and none of the patients met the fibromyalgia criteria after the surgery. After septoplasty, a statistically significant decrease was detected in the patients' widespread pain index, symptom severity scale, total score, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Revised Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire scores (P = .006, P = .004, P = .028, P = .014, and P < .001, respectively). As a result of the study, it was observed that fibromyalgia symptoms of patients with septum deviation improved after surgical correction of the deviation.

Pharmacopuncture is a widely used Korean medicine treatment, but its usage patterns and associated factors remain unclear. This study aimed to explore factors related to the use of pharmacopuncture alongside acupuncture and investigate the associated medical cost burden in South Korea. We analyzed the 2019 Korea Health Panel Annual Data, focusing on adult outpatients who received acupuncture alone or both acupuncture and pharmacopuncture (PA). ⋯ This study reveals socioeconomic factors influencing pharmacopuncture use and highlights potential health inequalities in its access in South Korea. The higher costs associated with PA visits suggest a need for considering its inclusion in health insurance coverage. Future research should focus on the effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and standardization of pharmacopuncture to address unmet healthcare needs and inform policy decisions.

Meta Analysis
A systematic review of the predictive value of radiomics for nasopharyngeal carcinoma prognosis.
Radiomics has been widely used in the study of tumours, which has predictive and prognostic value in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Therefore, we collected relevant literature to explore the role of current radiomics in predicting the prognosis of NPC. ⋯ This study summarized all the studies that examined the predictive value of radiomics for NPC prognosis. Based on the summarized AUC values, as well as sensitivity and 1-specificity, it can be concluded that radiomics has good performance in predicting the prognosis of NPC. Radiomics models have certain advantages in predicting the effectiveness of PFS compared to predicting disease-free survival. It cannot be determined whether the combination model is superior to the radiomics model in predicting NPC prognosis, nor can it be determined whether imaging methods have differences in predictive ability. The findings confirmed and provided further evidence supporting the effectiveness of radiomics for the prediction of cancer prognosis.

Resection of uterine arteriovenous fistula with temporary occlusion of the internal iliac arteries: Case series and literature review.
Uterine arteriovenous fistula (UAVF) is a rare vascular abnormality that can cause severe and potentially life-threatening hemorrhage. Uterine artery embolization is a common treatment that may affect ovarian and uterine perfusion and cause fertility problems. We herein report our experience treating 2 patients with UAVF who underwent resection after temporary occlusion of both internal iliac arteries. ⋯ UAVF resection after temporary occlusion of the internal iliac arteries is a promising treatment approach for UAVF. This technique can reduce intraoperative bleeding and remove the potential hemorrhage-related lesion while preserving fertility.

Migraine is a ubiquitous neurological disorder that affects approximately 1 billion people worldwide. Migraine is the second leading cause of illness in people of all ages worldwide. Uncertainty in migraine diagnosis leads to unnecessary testing and increases the treatment costs. ⋯ As an important component of complementary and alternative medicine, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has shown significant efficacy in the treatment of migraine, and has attracted increasing attention worldwide. This review is based on the pathophysiology of migraines in modern medicine. To explore the comprehensive treatment of migraine using TCM, acupuncture, and various other TCM treatments.
