Review Case Reports
MR imaging diagnosis of small-cell carcinoma of the ovary, hypercalcemic type: A case report and literature review.
Small-cell carcinoma of the ovary, hypercalcemic type (SCCOHT), is a rare and aggressive gynecological tumor. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical manifestations and imaging findings of this patient and analyzed the relevant literature, with the aim of improving the ability of radiologists to differentiate SCCOHT from other ovarian tumors. ⋯ Despite its rarity, SCCOHT should still be considered in the differential diagnosis of ovarian malignancies. When a young female patient presents with a large unilateral tumor on MRI with a predominant solid component and significant enhancement on the contrast enhanced scans, along with hypercalcemia, SCCOHT should be considered.

Although rare, guidewire fractures can occur during interventional procedures. In most cases, the fractured guidewire segment can be removed. ⋯ When performing PCN to remove renal stones, the possibility of a guidewire fracture must be considered. If resistance or scraping is felt while handling the guidewire, then it should be replaced.

Primary intraspinal neuroendocrine tumor: A case report and literature review.
Neuroendocrine tumors (NET) refer to a group of uncommon tumors arising in the neuroendocrine system. Most NETs occur in the digestive tract and bronchi but are rare in the central nervous system, especially in the spinal canal. NET in the central nervous system mainly metastasize from other systems, with non-specific clinical symptoms. In this study, we report the diagnosis and treatment of intraspinal NET to provide clinical guidance as well as to avoid misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. ⋯ Intraspinal NETs are relatively rare and mostly manifest as limb numbness, weakness, and pain. Due to its nonspecific clinical symptoms, intraspinal NETs are easily misdiagnosed as lumbar disc herniation with radiculopathy and lumbar spondylolisthesis. Therefore, in patients with long-term symptoms, in addition to common lumbar neuromuscular diseases, lumbar MRI should be performed promptly to exclude the possibility of lumbar NETs.

During the new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, there are numerous symptoms in the skeletal muscular system, such as decreased skeletal muscle mass, strength, and muscle function, which are the main manifestations of sarcopenia. To investigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on sarcopenia from the perspectives of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and COVID-19 infection, we conducted this study. ⋯ The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on sarcopenia. Both infection with COVID-19 and lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic increase the risk of sarcopenia. Research should pay more attention to this disease during the COVID-19 pandemic and adopt effective interventions to minimize adverse outcomes.

We conducted an investigation into the correlation between HOXA and associated long-noncoding RNAs, along with their clinicopathologic and prognostic features in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). ⋯ The HOXA gene family has some potential to emerge as a novel prognostic factor for NSCLC and is correlated with some clinicopathological parameters such as the TNM stage, age and smoking. However, further meticulously designed prospective studies are warranted to substantiate these findings.
