Evaluating accuracy and reproducibility of ChatGPT responses to patient-based questions in Ophthalmology: An observational study.
Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT) is an online large language model that appears to be a popular source of health information, as it can provide patients with answers in the form of human-like text, although the accuracy and safety of its responses are not evident. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of ChatGPT responses to patients-based questions in ophthalmology. We collected 150 questions from the "Ask an ophthalmologist" page of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, which were reviewed and refined by two ophthalmologists for their eligibility. ⋯ This study shows moderate accuracy and reproducibility of ChatGPT responses to patients' questions in ophthalmology. ChatGPT may be-after more modifications-a supplementary health information source, which should be used as an adjunct, but not a substitute, to medical advice. The reliability of ChatGPT should undergo more investigations.

Bladder urothelial carcinoma (UC) is a common urinary system tumor that is generally diagnosed by cystoscopy combined with pathological biopsy. However, complete exophytic UC of the bladder is very rare and difficult to diagnose. Early diagnosis and accurate identification of such tumors, followed by aggressive surgical treatment, is essential for the management of these patients. ⋯ UC of the bladder may grow completely out of the bladder without symptoms such as gross hematuria; thus, early diagnosis is difficult. For high-risk individuals, regular imaging tests may help to detect tumors early. Partial cystectomy is a reliable surgical modality for bladder preservation in such patients.

Glycogen storage disease type 0a (GSD0a) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by glycogen synthase deficiency. Short stature is a characteristic feature in 29% of GSD0a patients, but isolated short stature as the only presenting symptom is exceedingly rare, with only 2 cases reported worldwide. ⋯ This case emphasizes considering GSD0a in unexplained short stature and the value of continuous glucose monitoring. Early diagnosis and treatment can optimize growth in GSD0a patients.

Critical illness-associated cerebral microbleeds (CI-aCMBs) are emerging as significant radiographic findings in patients with hypoxic ischemic injuries. Their occurrence, particularly in the corpus callosum, warrants a closer examination due to the potential implications for neurological outcomes in critically ill patients. We aim to describe a rare case of CI-aCMBs within the corpus callosum following cardiac arrest with the goal of bolstering the scientific literature on this topic. ⋯ CI-aCMBs is a rare radiographic finding after cardiac arrest. These lesions may be confined to the corpus callosum and the long-term clinical and radiographic sequelae are still largely unknown.

Bilateral pontine brachium lesions in one autoantibodies directed against MOG positive patient: A case report.
Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody-related disease is a relatively recent entity in inflammatory demyelinating disease. Its clinical presentation varies in severity and the lack of specific imaging features makes it easy to misdiagnose. We now report the case of a MOG antibody-positive patient who presented with diplopia and dizziness, and whose brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed abnormal signals in the bilateral pontine brachium. ⋯ If brain MRI indicating bilateral, multiple, and diffuse abnormal signals in the pontine brachium, and a discrepancy between the clinical symptoms and the imaging severity, a diagnosis of demyelinating disease should be considered highly probable. In such cases, anti-MOG antibody testing is essential for further defining the etiology. The clinical phenotype and imaging manifestations of MOG antibody-positive brainstem encephalitis may lack sufficient specificity to be readily identifiable. Timely diagnosis and early glucocorticoid therapy are beneficial in improving prognosis and preventing recurrence.
