Zoledronic acid is one of the most commonly used intravenous, highly potent amino diphosphonate salts worldwide and is commonly used in patients with primary or secondary osteoporosis, most of whom are well tolerated. There are currently no reports of severe sepsis induced by zoledronic acid. Here we present the first case of severe sepsis induced by zoledronic acid. We reviewed the literature and found that there is currently a lack of reports on severe sepsis induced by zoledronic acid or other diphosphonates. ⋯ The inducing mechanism of zoledronic acid is not clear, but when the patient has immunosuppression, the use of zoledronic acid should be cautious and monitored. In conclusion, severe sepsis induced by zoledronic acid is a rare but serious complication, and physicians should be aware of this adverse event in time to avoid serious consequences.

Review Case Reports
Peripheral ulcerative keratitis secondary to tuberculosis: A case report and literature review.
Compared with intraocular tuberculosis, ocular tuberculosis with ocular surface involvement is rare. Corneal involvement in ocular tuberculosis may include interstitial keratitis or peripheral ulcerative keratitis. We report a case of peripheral ulcerative keratitis directly caused by tuberculosis. ⋯ Peripheral ulcerative keratitis secondary to tuberculosis can be directly caused by M tuberculosis.

Meta Analysis
Efficacy and safety analysis of AKT inhibitor in triple-negative breast cancer: A meta-analysis and systematic review.
To determine the clinical benefit of monotherapy with AKT inhibitors in patients diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). ⋯ AKT inhibitors showed slightly better efficacy in the treatment of TNBC. However, further studies are needed to evaluate its long-term safety and optimal regimen, and caution should be exercised in patients with coexisting gastrointestinal disorders. The clinical characteristics of the patients and the choice of drugs should be considered on an individual basis.

Thoracoscopic resection of a giant esophageal schwannoma: A case report and review of literature.
Benign esophageal tumors are uncommon, accounting for approximately 2% of esophageal tumors. Esophageal schwannoma is a much rarer solid tumor with few cases reported in the literature. Open surgery is the surgical approach of choice for the treatment of esophageal tumors. With the advent of thoracoscopy, more and more countries are adopting a thoracoscopic approach to treat esophageal tumors, but there is still no clear surgical standard or modality for the treatment of esophageal tumors. ⋯ We describe a case of successful treatment of a schwannoma of the upper esophagus using artificial pneumothorax-assisted VATS. The combined use of Sox10 and S100 helps to improve the sensitivity and specificity of schwannoma diagnosis. Damage to the esophageal lining was avoided by mixed thoracoscopic and endoscopic exploration. This approach can also be applied to benign esophageal tumors in the thoracic and subthoracic segments, leading to better minimally invasive results.

Meta Analysis
Physical exercise on cortical brain activity in patients with mild cognitive impairment: A meta-analysis.
Physical exercise is recognized as a potential strategy to mitigate the cognitive decline associated with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). This systematic review aims to examine the specific effects of physical exercise on cortical brain activity in patients with MCI, an area that has not been thoroughly explored. ⋯ This meta-analysis suggests that physical exercise can augment the P300 amplitude, reduce the P300 latency period, and, overall, enhance cognitive functionality in individuals with MCI.
