There is currently no bibliometric analysis available regarding pain management (PM). The aim of this study was to monitor the advancement of the PM research field, demonstrate global productivity, identify the most highly cited studies, delineate collaborations between research areas and countries, and uncover new research topics and intriguing trends. A total of 16,216 articles on the subject of PM published between 1980 and 2023 were downloaded from the Web of Science database and analyzed using various bibliometric analysis methods. ⋯ In addition to Western countries with major economies in the field of PM (USA, Canada, Australia, and European countries), we identified China, India, and Turkey as research leaders. Our bibliometric analysis of 10,566 articles on PM reveals a significant growth in research, with recent trends focusing on e-health, telemedicine, virtual reality, and peripheral nerve blocks. These emerging technologies and personalized treatment approaches are shaping the future of PM.

Comprehensive nursing interventions enhance sleep quality in patients with arrhythmia following AMI.
This study aims to assess the impact of comprehensive nursing care on sleep quality and rehabilitation duration in patients experiencing arrhythmia after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Eighty-four patients with post-AMI arrhythmia treated at our hospital from February 2018 to February 2019 were selected and divided based on the nursing care received. The observation group (n = 44) underwent comprehensive nursing interventions, while the control group (n = 40) received standard nursing care. ⋯ Nursing satisfaction rates were notably higher in the observation group than in the control group. Comprehensive nursing care significantly enhances sleep quality, speeds up rehabilitation, and increases patient satisfaction in individuals with arrhythmia after AMI. These findings support the clinical adoption of comprehensive nursing interventions for this patient population.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex endocrine disorder affecting ≈8% to 13% of women of reproductive age. PCOS has multifaceted effects that extend beyond reproductive health. Women with PCOS are at an elevated risk for various metabolic conditions, including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, as well as psychological challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and reduced quality of life. This systematic review examined the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions, including dietary, exercise, and behavioral modifications, in improving reproductive outcomes, mental well-being, and quality of life in women with PCOS. ⋯ This review underscores the efficacy of integrated lifestyle interventions, including dietary, exercise, and behavioral approaches, in improving reproductive health, psychological well-being, and quality of life in women with PCOS. These findings highlight the potential of comprehensive nonpharmacological management strategies to address the multifaceted health challenges posed by PCOS. Future research should prioritize long-term studies to assess sustained outcomes and examine personalized intervention strategies that account for the clinical diversity and heterogeneity of PCOS presentations.

Insomnia is increasingly common and poses significant health risks. The aims of this study are to identify apoptosis-related genes and potential biomarkers for insomnia and to find new therapeutic targets. Insomnia gene expression profiles were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, and differentially expressed genes in normal and insomnia samples were identified by limma rapid differential analysis, and then the major modular genes with clinical relevance to insomnia were analyzed using the Weighted Gene Co-Expression Network Analysis, and intersections were obtained with the differentially expressed genes as well as with apoptotic gene databases. ⋯ Compared to the normal group, the antiapoptotic ability of hippocampal neurons in the model group is reduced. Although BCL2 has been studied in the context of sleep deprivation, SOCS3 and IL7R have not yet been explored in insomnia. Insomnia and sleep deprivation involve similar pathways, but due to different mechanisms and types of insomnia, gene expression may vary.

To investigate the determining risk factors for 1-year postoperative mortality in elderly patients with hip fracture and to assess the efficacy of the age-adjusted Charlson comorbidity index (ACCI) in predicting the risk of death. This study adopted a retrospective analysis method to focus on 652 elderly patients who underwent hip fracture surgery between January 2018 and November 2022 in our hospital. By systematically combing the patients' medical records, relevant data were collected and analyzed in depth for their association with morbidity and mortality rates within 1 year. ⋯ The ACCI excelled in predicting the risk of 1-year postoperative mortality, with an AUC of 0.912 for its prediction model and a specificity and sensitivity of 0.834 and 0.871, respectively, when the threshold was set at 5.5. The results of this study emphasize that age, ACCI, and postoperative pneumonia are key risk factors affecting the survival of elderly patients with hip fracture at 1-year postoperatively. ACCI, as an effective predictive tool, can provide an important reference for the clinical assessment of patients' postoperative risk and help precision medical decision-making.
