Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI) constitutes a significant etiology of exacerbated cerebral tissue damage subsequent to intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular mechanical thrombectomy in patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke. The treatment of CIRI has been extensively investigated through a multitude of clinical studies. Acupuncture has been demonstrated to be effective in treating CIRI. ⋯ The transplantation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can effectively suppress apoptosis, modulate immune responses, and enhance the proliferation and migration of endogenous neural stem cells (NSCs), thereby compensating for the NSCs deficiency following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. The combination of acupuncture and MSCs transplantation demonstrates superiority over individual treatments, significantly enhancing the survival rate of MSCs. Moreover, it facilitates the secretion of various cytokines to promote their homing and differentiation into functional neurons, thereby providing a novel approach for clinical treatment of CIRI.

Effects of intensive wearing face masks on patients with postinfectious cough: A randomized controlled trial.
Postinfectious cough was a common clinical symptom, which troubled patients and increased economic burden. The efficacy of pharmacotherapy for this symptom was unsatisfactory. This study aimed to explore the intervention effect of intensified mask-wearing on patients with post-upper respiratory tract infection cough and its role in reducing the economic burden of patients. ⋯ The compliance of patients with intensive wearing face masks was high. The intensive wearing of face masks had a good intervention effect on the treatment of postinfectious cough, which could effectively reduce cough symptoms of patients, shorten the course of the disease, and reduce medical expenditure.

Correlation between MRI findings of pituitary gland and prolactin level among hyperprolactinemia adult female Saudi patients in rural areas: A retrospective multicentric study.
Identifying the prolactin threshold that necessitates pituitary magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with hyperprolactinemia remains challenging. Therefore, developing standards for serum prolactin level criteria to predict prolactinoma is critical. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between hyperprolactinemia and the presence of pituitary adenoma among Saudi female patients with verified prolactin levels. ⋯ The ideal cutoff prolactin level for diagnosing pituitary adenoma was > 38.71 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 77.23% and specificity of 40.91%. It is prudent to perform pituitary imaging in most cases of hyperprolactinemia without event etiology, even if the condition is minor, due to the high prevalence of pituitary anomalies in female patients with hyperprolactinemia at serial sampling. A multidisciplinary strategy is necessary for a comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up approach to improve the clinical outcomes of these individuals.

The clinical effects of continuous nursing intervention combined with chronic disease management center in patients with severe hypertension.
The construction and application of chronic disease management centers are increasing. However, the effect of continuing nursing combined with intervention measures provided by chronic disease management centers in patients with severe hypertension is still unclear. To analyze the application effect of continuous nursing intervention combined with chronic disease management center in patients with severe hypertension. 240 patients with severe hypertension were randomly divided into control group (N = 120) and study group (N = 120). ⋯ After nursing, the short form 36-item health survey, total satisfaction rate and medication compliance rate of the study group were higher than those of the control group (P < .001). Blood pressure, self-rating anxiety scale, and self-rating depression scale scores were lower than those of the control group (P < .05). Continuing nursing combined with the intervention of chronic disease management center can effectively reduce the blood pressure of patients with severe hypertension, and the overall nursing effect is remarkable.

Anemia is a worldwide public health problem and is associated with platelet disorders. The relationship between anemia and platelets is complex, with the association being either normal platelet count or thrombocytosis. Platelets are significantly decreased in patients with anemia, and thrombocytopenia has been documented in patients with severe anemia. ⋯ Morphologically, 44.32% were microcytic hypochromic anemia, 53.98% were normocytic normochromic anemia and 1.70% were macrocytic anemia. The findings showed that platelet count variation correlates well with red cell indices and morphologic types of anemia in adult anemic patients. Such correlation will enable physicians to make diagnoses and administer treatments.
