Daclatasvir in combination with asunaprevir and beclabuvir for hepatitis C virus genotype 1 infection with compensated cirrhosis.
Effective and well-tolerated, interferon-free regimens are needed for treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and cirrhosis. ⋯ In this open-label uncontrolled study, patients with chronic HCV genotype 1 infection and cirrhosis who received a 12-week oral fixed-dose regimen of daclatasvir, asunaprevir, and beclabuvir, with or without ribavirin, achieved high rates of SVR12.

Administration of spores of nontoxigenic Clostridium difficile strain M3 for prevention of recurrent C. difficile infection: a randomized clinical trial.
Clostridium difficile is the most common cause of health care-associated infection in US hospitals. Recurrence occurs in 25% to 30% of patients. ⋯ Among patients with CDI who clinically recovered following treatment with metronidazole or vancomycin, oral administration of spores of NTCD-M3 was well tolerated and appeared to be safe. Nontoxigenic C. difficile strain M3 colonized the gastrointestinal tract and significantly reduced CDI recurrence.

The antiviral activity of all-oral, ribavirin-free, direct-acting antiviral regimens requires evaluation in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. ⋯ In this open-label, nonrandomized, uncontrolled study, a high rate of SVR12 was achieved in treatment-naive and treatment-experienced noncirrhotic patients with chronic HCV genotype 1 infection who received 12 weeks of treatment with the oral fixed-dose regimen of daclatasvir, asunaprevir, and beclabuvir.
