Are antidepressants associated with improved outcomes for postnatal depression? ⋯ Compared with placebo, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are associated with better response and remission rates for postnatal depression. However, few studies included women with severe depression or suicidal ideation. There are insufficient data to conclude whether antidepressants are associated with better outcomes than psychological interventions.
