Randomized Controlled Trial
Effect of Fibrinogen Concentrate on Intraoperative Blood Loss Among Patients With Intraoperative Bleeding During High-Risk Cardiac Surgery: A Randomized Clinical Trial.
Fibrinogen concentrate might partly restore coagulation defects and reduce intraoperative bleeding. ⋯ Among patients with intraoperative bleeding during high-risk cardiac surgery, administration of fibrinogen concentrate, compared with placebo, resulted in no significant difference in the amount of intraoperative blood loss.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Testosterone Treatment and Coronary Artery Plaque Volume in Older Men With Low Testosterone.
Recent studies have yielded conflicting results as to whether testosterone treatment increases cardiovascular risk. ⋯ Among older men with symptomatic hypogonadism, treatment with testosterone gel for 1 year compared with placebo was associated with a significantly greater increase in coronary artery noncalcified plaque volume, as measured by coronary computed tomographic angiography. Larger studies are needed to understand the clinical implications of this finding.
