To evaluate the efficacy of passive cardiomyoplasty with the determination of biventricular volumes, global systolic function as well as left-ventricular muscle mass. ⋯ Following passive cardiomyoplasty, EBCT and MRI revealed an improvement of the global systolic function as well as a reduction of biventricular volumes and left-ventricular muscle mass.

[Direct MR arthrography of the wrist in comparison with arthroscopy: a prospective study on 125 patients].
In literature the diagnostic value of MRI for detecting lesions of the carpal ligaments and the TFCC is judged controversially. The aim of the following study is to determine the diagnostic accuracy of direct MR arthrography for depicting and staging of intraarticular lesions of the wrist. ⋯ Direct MR arthrographic imaging is well suited for detecting intraarticular lesions of the wrist. The presented diagnostic results of MR arthrography are superior to the results of unenhanced MRI reported in the literature. Direct MR arthrography as a reliable diagnostic tool is strongly recommended if lesions of the scapholunate ligament and the triangular fibrocartilage complex are suspected. In contrast, an attitude of caution must be adopted in diagnosing lesions of the articular cartilage of the wrist.

[Time-resolved multiphasic 3D MR angiography in the diagnosis of the pulmonary vascular system in children].
To evaluate time-resolved, multiphasic 3D MR angiography (MRA) for the non-invasive assessment of the pulmonary vascular system in children. ⋯ Time-resolved multiphasic 3D MRA allows a non-invasive diagnostic evaluation of the pulmonary circulation in children. In view of the excellent image quality, MRA may replace conventional diagnostic catheter angiography in the near future.

[MR angiography of the coronary arteries: comparison of the blood pool contrast medium Gadomer and Gd-DTPA in pigs].
To investigate the signal-enhancing effects of the macromolecular contrast medium Gadomer in MR angiography of the coronary arteries compared to Gd-DTPA. ⋯ Gadomer is a suitable contrast medium for MR angiography of the coronary arteries with the dose of 0.1 mmol Gd/kg being superior to 0.05 mmol Gd/kg due to a longer imaging window.

[Sacroiliitis in children with spondyloarthropathy: therapeutic effect of CT-Guided intra-articular corticosteroid injection].
The prospective investigation of the therapeutic effect of CT-guided intra-articular corticosteroid injection into inflammatory sacroiliac (SI) joints compared to conventional treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) in children with juvenile spondyloarthropathy (jSpA) and the determination of the role of dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in establishing the indication and monitoring the therapy. ⋯ CT-guided intra-articular corticosteroid injection has proven an effective, symptomatic, and uncomplicated therapy of acute sacroiliitis in patients with jSpA. Dynamic MRI has a role in establishing the indication for intervention but its role for any follow-up is restricted to cases with inconclusive clinical response.
