Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical Trial
[Renal enhancement and excretion of the hepatobiliary contrast agent Gd-EOB-DTPA].
To evaluate the clinical value of the renal clearance using MR imaging with different doses of gadolinium ethoxybenzyl-DTPA (Gd-EOB-DTPA) in comparison to gadolinium DTPA (Gd-DTPA). ⋯ In addition to the hepatobiliary secretion Gd-EOB-DTPA appears useful for the evaluation of renal structures and renal function on account of the renal excretion without diuretic preparation of the patients.

The objective of this prospective study was to assess the value of the indirect MR arthrography (MR-AR) of the wrist in the detection of lesions of the TFCC. ⋯ Indirect MR-AR is a non-invasive method with a high sensitivity in the evaluation of the TFCC and associated injuries. Therefore, it is an excellent screening procedure to assess the indication for therapeutic arthroscopy.

Spine boards are frequently used in preclinical emergency care. Different models were examined with regard to their feasibility for plain film radiography and computed tomography (CT). ⋯ Only one board (Ferno Millenia(R)) showed sufficient properties for plain film radiography and CT. There is no suitable spine board for preclinical and clinical applications as well as for trauma radiology, further improvements of current designs are essential.

Simon nitinol vena cava filters: effectiveness and complications. ⋯ The SNF is easy and safe to implant and successfully prevents pulmonary embolism. In our study the rate of well documented pulmonary re-embolism (7.7 %) is satisfactory. Except for the high perforation rate through the wall of the IVC (100 %, but without clinical relevance), complication rates during and after implantation of the SNF are low compared with other filter types.
